Daily Affirmation #140

The Lord is my pillar, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower” (Psalm 18:2, MEV). There are times that we feel battered and broken. Assailed with things that the Word says we don’t need to be assailed by – like sickness (Psalm 91:6,10). But attacks against us and our thinking still come (John 10:10). What to do then when your physical experience doesn’t match your knowledge of who you are? You enter the fortress. Who can hurt you there? You take refuge in Yahweh God Almighty. The high tower and solid rock that keeps you safe. You wrap yourself in the Word and commune with Him. He might tell you to take certain actions. He might tell you specific verses to stand on. He might even tell you to go see a doctor (they aren’t evil or wrong). He knows what your thinking will accept. He knows what you need. He knows and cares about you. He is your loving Father, giving you comfort. He is your protective Father, knocking down your enemies. He is your sheltering Father, keeping everything negative from touching you directly. He is your companion Father, a friendly face and voice to talk to and communicate with. He is perfect. He is mighty. He has already triumphed over everything that is trying to triumph over you (John 19:30). He IS your deliverer. Climb into that fortress – it’s easy. Wrap yourself in the Word – it’s a joy. Take your ‘medicine’ and enjoy the sound of your full salvation ringing out across your life. He IS a high tower. He IS a fortress. He IS more than enough for anything in our lives. He IS and He loves us SO MUCH. Take what HE has for you and renew your thinking to HIS possibilities (Romans 12:2). They are SO MUCH MORE than we think. And in Jesus, we have access to it all. Amen.
