Dear friends, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God resides in us and his love is perfected in us. By this we know that we reside in him and he in us: that he has given us of his Spirit.
1 John 4:11-13
There is a beautiful peace that comes knowing that Ruach HaKodesh is indeed inside you. Shining the light on Jesus. Reminding you of everything in the Word that is relevant to what you’re going through. And just being there. Present. When you really think on it you can almost feel the light of Ruach shining inside you. Flowing over every cell. Shining out from your fingertips. The power of Yahweh present in your life. There is a surety that comes from knowing that He is partnering with you – not Him partnering with what YOU want, but Him partnering in your cooperation with what HE wants. Knowing that no matter how it seems, no matter what anyone says, you are on the right path, doing the right things, going to the right place, with the One who sent you. That is confidence. That is peace. And we get it just because He is there. What a great gift!
When Jesus told us that He was going to send His Ruach to us, He said about Him “the Spirit of truth, whom the world is not able to receive, because it does not see him or know him. You know him, because he resides with you and will be in you” (John 14:17). That means that if Ruach HaKodesh is with you, Adonai Himself is dwelling in you. Anything that happens to you, happens to Him. He takes it VERY personally. Look at Saul. He was persecuting the church in Jerusalem and was on His way to do the same in Damascus. Jesus showed up, knocked Saul flat, and demanded to know “why are you persecuting me?” (Acts 9:4b). Jesus didn’t ask about the individual believers. Jesus didn’t ask about the church as a whole. Jesus demanded to know why Saul was persecuting HIM. Jesus sent Ruach HaKodesh to be one with us so that we could be one with Him. What happens to us happens to Him and He demands an accounting for it. It can SEEM like people are getting away with things, but they aren’t. If you don’t believe that, read the book of Isaiah and look at all the powerful nations Adonai prophesied would be taken down. Each and every one was, and Jerusalem WAS restored, and Israel has begun to walk in its restoration (more is coming). No one gets away with anything forever. Seed time and then harvest. Everyone has a harvest coming.
This isn’t some esoteric relationship either. Adonai is literally dwelling within us. There is absolute life inside us. There is pure joy. There is righteous love. There is all the Fruit that Ruach HaKodesh grew. It’s there. Right there inside us. Available to us, yes, but also as proof that He is there. Adonai isn’t a God of FEELINGS. Adonai is a God of PROMISES. He says something, and it is SO. We can trust that because He is trustworthy and has been proven trustworthy again and again and again and again. One of the proofs that He is in us is the Fruit that we can take hold of and see physically arrive in our souls. We can be angry and ready to blow, take a hold of His peace or His patience or His kindness and feel that anger dissipate in an INSTANT. It is so possible and present for us, it’s truly baffling why we don’t do it every time we have a negative feeling come upon us – myself included. But just because we don’t walk in the fullness of what’s available to us does not mean that it isn’t possible or isn’t there. If we search our heart, we know it to be true.
Adonai’s presence inside us in the person of Ruach HaKodesh is the proof and the fulfillment of His promise to never be away from us. It is the cornerstone of His love in our lives. It is the basis on which we operate in all the ways we get to operate while cooperating with Him. It is supposed to be the signature and stamp by which we are known (John 13:35). And what’s our reminder that we can access and use His love? Ruach HaKodesh. He’s the barometer that always tells us what temperature our emotional life can be. He’s the material from which we can build our lives. Not lives of empty happenings, but lives of real meaning. Real interactions. Real relationships. The world is full of punching the clock and surface interactions. With Ruach HaKodesh, we are able to inhabit the fullness of life and intimate interactions with everyone we come across. He lends to us His ability to touch hearts. To get past the curtains of garbage and let the light of the Kingdom shine through. To let them get a peek of Jesus – which will always start the craving from inside themselves to see Him more. This is our gift. Straight from Adonai. We get to be His Light in this world – and we know it because Ruach HaKodesh is right there holding the candle high, ready for our cooperation. There is GREAT security in knowing He is there and that He will NEVER leave. We can be sure that we’re sure that we’re sure. He IS.
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Romans 16:20
“And in a short time the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you” Jesus didn’t panic. His disciples panicked a couple of times, but He didn’t – He knew the victory was a done deal. Because He didn’t panic, He spoke peace from a place of peace. You cannot speak peace in agitation. You cannot speak peace in anger. You cannot speak peace when you are discombobulated and running around arms flailing like C-3PO. It is when we are experiencing peace in our soul – beyond explanation, beyond reason, beyond feeling, beyond everything human – that is when we can speak real peace that has power. It is Adonai’s peace, not ours. We inhabit it, we don’t create it. That’s why it is not connected to our thinking, our feeling, or our experience in the moment (Philippians 4:7). It is not human peace. But Adonai gives it to us. He pours it out on us. It bubbles up like an artisan well without end. Ever refreshing – should we choose to take advantage of it. He does it because He loves us. He does it because it is part of who He is and He promised not to leave us. There is peace in His presence and He brings it with Him into all the situations He is in. Since He lives in us, we have that peace inside us. And He lets us access it through Jesus. Isn’t that great? Being able to have peace regardless of circumstances. Being able to have peace regardless of what’s going through our heads. Peace to bring clarity. Peace to settle the waters and clear them again. There for the asking. Just because HE is there period. What a GOOD God!
