I will not die, but live, and I will proclaim what the Lord has done.
Psalm 118:17 (emphasis added)
Four times before this verse it is declared that Adonai’s loyal love endures. Adonai answered. Adonai is a helper. Take shelter in Adonai is said twice. Adonai gives deliverance, He gives victory, and He gives strength. It says twice that Adonai’s right hand conquers. Enemies swarm like bees, but disappeared like thorns on fire. This is the framework where it is declared that because of all that Adonai does for the writer, he will declare that he WILL not die and he WILL live and he WILL proclaim what Adonai has done.
Set against the backdrop, how could we look at this statement as anything but a statement of fact. A TRUTH. Period. Full stop. No matter WHAT comes at the writer of this psalm, it will NOT kill them. They will LIVE and proclaim to everyone that they are alive ONLY because of Adonai. They are proclaiming the position and job description of the Most High. It is true throughout scripture. Good things come from Adonai. Bad things come from the devil. Adonai NEVER allows sickness. WE allow sickness because we do not do what we have been tasked and equipped to do (Matthew 10:7-8). We were told to do it. Not pray for it. Not beg for it. Not wait for it. To DO it. When we do NOT do it, it is on US and not on Adonai. Adonai ALWAYS heals. His will is to ALWAYS heal. He told us to take the healing HE released, HE accomplished, HE empowered, and HE paid for with His flesh and blood and deliver it to the world. He gave it FREELY and told us to pass it on FREELY. He is the lover who heals, delivers, shelters, strengthens, endures, and that is the victory for us and for everyone we come across.
Death? It wasn’t part of the plan. ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that leads to death was NOT part of the plan. Not aging. Not deterioration of cells. Not entropy. Not sickness. Not disease. NONE OF IT WAS THE PLAN. It was NOT the will of the Father. It was the DIRECT OPPOSITE of the will of the Father. It was REBELLION. Rebellion is open, armed, and usually unsuccessful defiance of or resistance to an established government. This is what Adam and Eve did in the garden. Eve was the opening act. Adam was the slam dunk. Eve was unrest, but Adam was the traitor. Adam received direct instruction from the Father and he disobeyed. He took what looked good, bowed his knee to another ideal that was in opposition to the Father’s ideal, and went his own way. Enter death. The death penalty is the price for open insurrection. Death and everything to do with it started right there. There was NONE before it.
It is ALWAYS Adonai’s will for healing because restoration is who Jesus is. He is the healer. He is about restoration. Jesus is the GIVER. “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; no one will snatch them from my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can snatch them from my Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.”” (John 10:28-30). “For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). The ONLY thing that Adonai wants to see dead is your old man. The non-functioning spirit you had while trapped in a sin nature. Jesus came to save us from that. Jesus came to die and take our old man to the grave with Him. The Father used the Ruach HaKodesh to raise Jesus from the dead and give you Jesus’ righteous, living spirit so that you can enter Jesus’ new life. NEW. REBORN. A NEW CREATURE. One that will NEVER die again.
Jesus mission was SIMPLE. The rewards of the kingdom are SIMPLE. Jesus will heal you if you come to Him with ANY amount of sincere faith. Period. On Adonai’s end, that is it. Everything else are things WE hang onto to prevent our own healing. We don’t have to do ANYTHING but trust Him. That’s it. That is the simple thing that Jesus did. He FINISHED it on the cross (John 19:30). Done. Complete. If WE think there is an impediment for our healing or for us seeing miraculous healings around us, then there will be. The battle is in the mind. That belief about an impediment is the fertiliser that helps grow unbelief. Unbelief prevented the ability of those around Jesus to accept healing (Matthew 13:58). Jesus COULD have done miracles but DID NOT because of unbelief. What did He do almost everywhere else that He went? He did miracles because of FAITH. Because of TRUST. If we come to Jesus with a teeny, tiny bit of honest trust (faith), then He WILL heal us (Matthew 17:20).
Our healing is not performance based. He will not withhold healing from us because we are bad. He will not heal us because we are good. The Father heals us by the Ruach HaKodesh because of what Jesus did on the cross. By the blood of Jesus released by bruises, stripes, and wounds we WERE healed. We don’t have to know anything. We don’t have to break anything off. We don’t have to DO anything, SAY anything, READ anything, or DEVELOP anything. All we have to do is trust that Jesus did it. THAT is the prerequisite for healing again and again and again and AGAIN in Jesus’ life. AND HE NEVER CHANGES (Hebrews 13:8).
How did I get saved? I heard that Jesus was offering Grace and Mercy, I believed in what He did on and through the cross, I believed. I confessed. I was saved. And to publicly start walking in that, I was baptised and declared it as true. How can I be healed? How can you be healed? Hear this: Jesus is offering healing. He healed you through the cross by His blood released through wounds. Just like I believed in salvation, accepted it, and THEN got peace about it. I am – and you can – believe in your healing, accept it, and THEN see it happen. It is simple. Jesus is good for it. He is good for what He SAYS He is good for. He bore our sickness. He healed our pain. Take a deep breath and believe Him. He did it. The Father did it. They’re a team.
You have authority over your own body. This healing you want belongs to you because of what Jesus has done. It was done on the cross. It was done before the foundation of the world. It was finished. Believe it. Don’t worry about receiving, just believe. Trust. Don’t wait to feel better before you put your trust to work. Recognise the payment Jesus made. Don’t fake feeling good, trust in the payment Jesus made. The same way you did when you were saved. It works the SAME WAY. It is ALL it takes. We can breathe deep, we can walk around, and we will see the improvement because Jesus already did it and receiving it is easy, simple, and oh so real. Jesus healed you. You are healed! You’re FREE from sickness and disease. You WILL live and you can give the glory to the Father and thank the Son. By His Spirit, He did it. You’ve got it. Be healed. Be whole. Be confident in it. He is. He FINISHED it.
Daily Affirmation Jesus IS Messiah: Psalm 109:7-8
“When he is judged, he will be found guilty. Then his prayer will be regarded as sinful. May his days be few. May another take his job.” Another was to succeed the Betrayer of Messiah. The close friend of Messiah would betray Him. Will be guilty of betraying Him. Will be KNOWN as guilty of betraying Him. Another person would replace him, taking the empty slot the Betrayer left behind. ““Brothers, the scripture had to be fulfilled that the Holy Spirit foretold through David concerning Judas—who became the guide for those who arrested Jesus—for he was counted as one of us and received a share in this ministry.” (Now this man Judas acquired a field with the reward of his unjust deed, and falling headfirst he burst open in the middle and all his intestines gushed out. This became known to all who lived in Jerusalem, so that in their own language they called that field Hakeldama, that is, “Field of Blood.”) “For it is written in the book of Psalms, ‘Let his house become deserted, and let there be no one to live in it,’ and ‘Let another take his position of responsibility.’” (Acts 1:16-20). Judas chose to betray Jesus (Matthew 26:14-16). Jesus knew he would betray Him and exposed him (John 13:26-27). Everyone at the garden saw Judas betray Jesus (Matthew 26:48-54). Judas KNEW he was guilty and regretted it (Matthew 27:3-4). Judas didn’t repent, but killed himself because of regret (Matthew 27:5). He was replaced by Peter and the remaining disciples. His acts proved that Jesus IS the Messiah!
