“This is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” (1 John 5:14, MEV). What is the will of the Lord? To give thanks in all things (1 Thessalonians 5:18). To save everyone (2 Peter 3:9). For us to endure (Hebrews 10:36). Which applies in which instance and are there more things? Yes. Solution? Holy Spirit. “See then that you walk carefully, not as fools, but as wise men, making the most of the time because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Do not be drunk with wine, for that is reckless living. But be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:15-18, MEV). We will know the Will of God when Holy Spirit tells it to us. And WHAT does He tell to us? Everything He hears (from Jesus who hears it from the Father) and everything WE have put into our heart from the Word (Jesus). The WORD is the Will of Yahweh. You want to know what God thinks about something? Open the scriptures and start reading. The Word is ALWAYS current. ALWAYS for today. ALWAYS good for teaching and correction (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Human beings were the tools used to get it onto a physical medium (paper), but Holy Spirit wrote it. Every. Single. Word. He is THE commentator on the Word because He wrote it and He can explain why He wrote it and what it means. This is why we can have confidence that every single request we make of God that is based on HIS Word will both be heard and answered. When we pray that way, we’re agreeing with HIM! Of course He’ll answer! Of course He’ll give us what He wanted to give us in the first place! What a GREAT GOD!
