Fear No Fear

But those who wait for Yahweh shall renew their strength. They shall go up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not grow weary; they shall walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 40:31

Quick. Trusted. Expert Care. These were the words headlining the advertisement for an oil change. It was one of those drive in, get seen, get out in a short period of time. There was even a $20 off coupon attached. It included 5L of oil, not premium; a lube and maintenance check; taxes not included; and good until the end of the year. ‘Stop in today for a great oil change at a great price’ was the sub-heading of the flyer. If I use the coupon and go in, I’m going to get a service for a discounted price. They won’t use up a lot of my time. They’ll (presumably) be efficient and (hopefully) capable. If I don’t go in with the coupon, I won’t get the deal. If I don’t go in at all, I won’t get the quick service and will have to take my chances at the dealership or another mechanic. It reminded me of 2 Chronicles 15:2 “And he went out before Asa and said to him, “Hear me, O Asa and all of Judah and Benjamin! Yahweh is with you while you are with him. And if you will seek him he will be found by you. But if you forsake him he will forsake you.” We can avail ourselves of what Adonai has sent our way, or we can ignore it.

Ruach HaKodesh is there with us from the MOMENT that we get saved (John 3:5-6; Ephesians 1:13). As soon as we are saved, He is there indwelling us (Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 6:19). But are we availing ourselves of what He is offering? He is a comforter, corrector, teacher, instructor, guide, reminder, power under the authority of Jesus for the glory of the Father, and a giver of the words we need at any time we need them. He is the grower of His Fruit, which we can take of and eat/use at will, anytime. He is the buckle that helps keep on the armour that we are allowed to wear. He is the tune that helps us sing joyfully to the Lord, gaining His strength in the process. He is the switch we can engage to banish depression, anxiety, and all fear AT WILL. He is the wick our flame burns on, enabling us to be a witness to the whole world. Are we all using all of that? Because we CAN. We’re allowed to. We have the authority to. Best part? It’s quick. It can be trusted. And it is EXPERT care.

Ruach HaKodesh is with us. We don’t have to con Him to get His attention. Ever. We can talk to Him at EVERY moment. We don’t have to bang on the gates of heaven or pace the floor hoping for a breakthrough. We can simply sit down and talk. He will answer. EVERY TIME. If you aren’t HEARING Him, you did something with your ears. You’re either la-la-la-ing so you can’t hear Him, or maybe you’ve been disobedient and not done the last thing He asked you to, or maybe you chose to sin and that is blocking your ears. There are many things and many reasons WE aren’t hearing. All of them can be dealt with easily. We can get educated about our sin, call it sin, view it like Adonai does, reject it, repent, and work with Ruach HaKodesh on being corrected into a godly attitude about it. We can go back to the last thing we were asked to do, repent for disobedience, and do the thing. We can chose to remove our fingers and listen to what He is saying EVEN IF WE DON’T LIKE IT. There is no requirement to LIKE what Adonai is saying. There is no requirement to LIKE everything in the Word. Be aware, though, if you DON’T like something, you need revelation about it so that you can. It’s a process, but it is well worth it. If anything is blocking us from hearing what Adonai has to say, we can work with Ruach HaKodesh to unplug them so we can really hear. Expert care.

Ruach HaKodesh is right there. We don’t have to wait for ages to hear a response to our prayers and questions. If we are praying according to the Word and the will of Adonai for HIS glory and not selfishly, we’ll get our ‘yes’ right away – even if we have to wait for the arrival of it. Adonai doesn’t keep us guessing. He tells us. Immediately, or close to. We have to be LISTENING and we have to choose to HEAR. The answer may also come with instructions. Yes, now do this and get that and bless them and sow seed, etc. It may be frustrating to our programmed-for-instant-noodles flesh to have to do something or wait for arrival, but we do it with online shopping and we do it with gardening/farming, so it isn’t foreign. Adonai is not some Gachapon Capsule Machine who gives us whatever we think we want/need. We’re praying to see HIS will done (Matthew 6:10). If we will listen, we’ll get told right away what we need to do (even if that is simply ‘wait’). We will not be left in limbo. We will not be left wondering what His will is. Trusted.

Ruach HaKodesh is right there to instruct us. We sometimes can’t hear the answer to our prayer because we haven’t prepared ourselves to hear it. The soil is not ready for that seed. We have to prepare ourselves to hear from Adonai (Exodus 19:10, 30:19; Leviticus 23:15-16; Numbers 19:7). This isn’t a bad thing. We grew up with broken thinking and broken morals – no matter HOW good they were from a human standpoint, they were NOT as good as He is. We need to prepare ourselves. To fast and seek His face. To wash our minds clear with the Word. To praise Him until our attitudes change. This is a guided process (John 16:13), and it starts the moment we start to seek Him about something. Quick.

Ruach HaKodesh is right there. If WE will wait on Adonai, we will get the benefits of His trusted, quick, and expert care. We will not be on the hook waiting. We will not have to mail-in a rebate. We will not be charged taxes – or anything at all (Jesus paid the price and He is on the case). The system was set up so that as long as we are intentful and truly seeking Him, He is found. We are helped. And every day we get closer and closer to Him. It’s not an oil-change, but a WHOLE LIFE RENEWAL. A process that will never end, because Adonai HAS NO END and we will always have a way to get more like Him. What fun that will be, going ever-deeper into His love for us – His way. We can start now. We can practise His presence. We can enjoy daily, consistent, and godly expert care that is trustworthy and TRUE. Amen.

Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: John 14:17

“the Spirit of truth, whom the world is not able to receive, because it does not see him or know him. You know him, because he resides with you and will be in you” The search for ‘the truth’ or ‘the meaning of life’ or ‘why we are here’ has been going on for millennia. The answer is so much more than how many roads you must walk down or the sum of seven and six (which is 42) or even the answer to the Diophantine Equation x³+y³+z³=k [which for 42 is: (-80538738812075974)^3 + 80435758145817515^3 + 12602123297335631^3]. It is all very, VERY simple. We are here for the Glory of Adonai. That’s it. That is the truth. We were put here to work this planet with total dominion over it – not domination, but stewardship – in order to make the entire planet like the Garden we started in (Genesis 2:8). We are to see His glory in creation (Psalm 19:1), and praise Him for it (Psalm 113). That’s it. Love Adonai through worship, observation, and obedience. He doesn’t keep this a secret, but tells us again and again and again that it is true. That this is the secret to abundant life. And that the fulfillment of it is found in Him (John 10:10; 15:5). He LOVES to show us what He is all about AND what WE can be in Him. He expands our horizons DAILY. He NEVER keeps us ‘in suspense’ or guessing. What a GOOD God!
