Daily Affirmation #158

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord” (Jeremiah 17:7, MEV). This is one of those simple and profound statements in the Word. If we want to be Blessed (which is our right as human beings – Ephesians 1:3), we need to trust in Jesus. That means acknowledging Him as Lord and Saviour. That means confessing that acknowledgement. That means believing Him and His Word. That means eagerly anticipating the arrival of ALL His promises as we submit humbly to Him and obey His commandments out of our growing love for Him. Simple. Not always easy. It takes effort to make these choices and choose to NOT do other things. It takes time. It means putting Him first and foremost. It means choosing to say His morals and His ideas and His opinions are the right and correct ones. Period. Full stop. When we do, we get Blessed. Again, it is SIMPLE. If we stay in the place He says is Blessed; if we rest in Jesus and say YOU ARE MY SOURCE (no matter WHAT is happening around us); then we ARE Blessed. God doesn’t make it complicated. He tells us about all the good things, He pays for all the good things, and then He instructs us how to get all the good things. AND He even helps do it. Isn’t He AWESOME to us? Look at all the good things He does!
