Healing Wings “Freedom Slaves”

(All scripture from the NET, netbible.org, all rights reserved)

And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to the promise.
Galatians 3:29 (emphasis added)

We are all slaves to a promise. Humanity is curious. Humanity longs for something. And we WILL fill it with whatever promise we believe. We’re slaves to the idea of seeking. “Although these false teachers promise such people freedom, they themselves are enslaved to immorality. For whatever a person succumbs to, to that he is enslaved” (2 Peter 2:19). If we believe the world. If we choose to place our trust in a series of observations of what is. If we choose to believe a promise of reward from another source. We will be slaved to that. It will dominate our thinking. And that is who or what we will BELONG to. There are only two people who ever existed from Yahweh’s point of view. The one who rebelled. And the one who was righteous. You’re either in Adam and his heritage or you’re in Jesus and his heritage. There are NO other options.

We can call them lots of things. Religions. Schools of thoughts. We can tell people that each one is just as valid as another. That there are many paths to truth. Many ways to work it out. Many truths in service of the one universal truth which has many, many facets. In the end, they are marked by a single shared attribute. You may have heard the celebrity who wittily said that the only difference between himself (an atheist) and a believer in Jesus is that he doesn’t believe in 3,000 gods and a believer doesn’t believe in 2,999. Clever comment and I am NOT running him down, but I’m afraid it’s backwards. A believer believes in Jesus an atheist does not. It doesn’t matter how many other things they have in common. This is the one way in which it matters. The ONLY way. It’s Jesus or everything that ISN’T Jesus. It’s simple. The only important way in which a disciple of Jesus differs from anyone who isn’t a disciple of Jesus is their belief in Jesus. You either believe He saved you, or you don’t. It’s like a long overdue bill suddenly going away. It doesn’t matter WHO paid it. Only that it WAS paid.

Who do we belong to? We belong to a God who only heals those who don’t deserve it. Ever. They were sinners. They were rude. They were bitter about their neighbours. They were jealous. They were angry. They had unforgiveness. They were REGULAR people. Like you and me. Off the street people. They were not the best of the best of the best. They were not perfect followers of the Word. Some of them were even unclean. Jesus didn’t stop at that. It didn’t faze Him. When trust touches the love of Adonai, healing is a REFLEX response by Adonai. This was never more clearly shown us as with the woman with the issue of blood. She didn’t speak to Jesus. She didn’t repent. She hadn’t said the sinners prayer. She believed. She trusted. She touched Him and she was healed as a REFLEX. Jesus didn’t even know who touched Him until the Holy Spirit revealed it to Him (Matthew 9:18-26; Mark 5:22-43; Luke 8:41-56). You can receive Jesus as a healer the same way you received Jesus as a saviour. When we trust wholly in Him and truly trust, He responds. He heals everyone. He accepts everyone. When we truly trust, we get saved.

Here we are. Saved. And when we are saved, we belong to Him. By trust, we put our wrists into His hands. He accepted us. He didn’t withhold salvation because you were bad. Thank Him that is true. He won’t withhold healing because you are bad. Thank Him and realise that that is true. Jesus is constant. The Father is constant. This is how things ARE. He is MERCIFUL. THAT is why we belong to Him. We serve Him from LOVE. He reacts to us with LOVE. By TRUST we believe. He responds to that. It is a relationship. It’s WONDERFUL. We love because He loves (1 John 4:19). We trust because He trusted first (Mark 11:22-23). Things worth by trust through Grace.

We trust that promise. It is through that promise of salvation that we are adopted into the family of God. Jesus is the Son of the Father. In Jesus, we too are sons and daughters of Him (John 1:12 -13). This is why we are joined to the promise. In the same way we were saved, we can trust that we are part of His family. Spiritually, we have been grafted into the Jews and we are ONE. “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female—for all of you are one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28). When we know who we are in Jesus, then we can go through Him and walk right into the Throne room of the Father (Hebrews 4:16). We can do that because we are IN Jesus. The Father doesn’t see US. He is seeing Jesus.

We are treasured. Loved. And wanted. Not sick and miserable and weak. Not anything but best. Not anything but Jesus. Jesus in you and you in Jesus. This is how we are to walk. Joined in the promises to Abraham. The endless offspring. That’s us. He saves us. He puts us where He can bless us – and asks us to stay. Jesus took our place on the cross so we can take His place before the Father. The Father isn’t mad at us. He’s happy. He’s smiling on us. Grace. That is what He is offering to us. We are able to be in Jesus and in all the promises that He said. We do that through Trust. We learn about it through the Word. Which also makes our trust stronger. It is a circular path from strength to strength to strength – all His.

If you don’t belong to Him yet, ask Him to come in. Ask Him to let you stand where He wants and asks you to. Love Him in true relationship. Be BLESSED.

Daily Affirmation Jesus IS Messiah: Psalm 118:26

May the one who comes in the name of the Lord be blessed. We will pronounce blessings on you in the Lord’s temple.” The Blessed One presented to Israel. This would be Messiah. A recognised position and blessed in the Temple. “The crowds that went ahead of him and those following kept shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”” (Matthew 21:9). This wasn’t new. It had been happening since Jesus was a newborn. “Then Simeon blessed them and said to his mother Mary, “Listen carefully: This child is destined to be the cause of the falling and rising of many in Israel and to be a sign that will be rejected” (Luke 2:34). Jesus was singled out and proclaimed the Son of David. He was called the Blessed One. He had pronouncements of blessing on Him in the Temple. Jesus IS the Messiah!
