Fear No Fear

“The righteousness of Your testimonies is everlasting; grant me understanding, and I shall live. I cried with my whole heart; hear me, O Lord, I will keep Your statutes” (Psalm 119:144-145, MEV). David understood something that we sometimes do not. The Word of God gives LIFE. Period. Reading it with intent brings us life. Studying it to see more of Him brings us life. Getting it into our heart brings us life. It’s like eating healthy food. It’s like taking effective medicine. It is a LIFE GIVING THING all on its own. “It will be health to your body, and strength to your bones” (Proverbs 3:8, MEV). This is a SPIRITUAL truth and this is a LITERAL truth. You can read the Word like taking an aspirin. It will bring us LIFE. And when we APPLY what we READ, when we BELIEVE the Word to be true, and when we TRUST in the Lord, we get the benefit of EVERYTHING that is written down! God didn’t HIDE this truth from us. David knew it. Other psalmists knew it. Solomon knew it. And it was written down so that WE would know it. All we need to do is read it, believe it, and trust Him. He’s here to bring us abundant life (John 10:10). Life in every arena. Life in every portion. LIFE! Adam didn’t know a MOMENT of sickness before he rebelled against the commandments of God. In and through Jesus, we can life a life without a MOMENT of sickness IF we live by the commandments of God. It can ONLY be done in Jesus. Will we all do it perfectly? No. But it doesn’t change that God loved us too much to keep His nature, His viewpoint, and His commandments from us. He reveals them to benefit us in SO MANY ways. He is a GREAT God, isn’t He?
