“And the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them. And you will be turned into another man” (1 Samuel 6:10, MEV). Have you seen those videos that float around with family members and romantic partners coming together after time apart? My favourite are the ones where a husband/boyfriend have gone to the trouble to go where their wife/girlfriend is (not work, just casually doing things around town). And they’re filming their partner as they walk past, not interacting, not speaking, just walking. To see if they get noticed. And the countenance change is awesome to witness. A moment of confusion, the double-take, their whole expression and demeanour change, and then an EXPLOSION of joy. Some run, some walk, some jump into arms. They are all thrilled to suddenly and unexpectedly see the object of their love, their partner in life, appear before them. It is a transformational experience. This is how God sees us. This is what Jesus is about. He’s not in Heaven getting ready to cause problems. He is ITCHING at the bit to get down here and see us. To show up and see our faces change as we notice Him. As we drop everything to come to Him and leap into His arms. The inability we will have to stay away. It doesn’t matter if it is in a rapture, an appearance in our homes, or the final-final appearance of Him and the end of all things. The TIMING isn’t the important thing. It is that He WILL show up, SUDDENLY and UNEXPECTEDLY and we will be THRILLED to see Him. It will be TRANSFORMATIONAL (1 Thessalonians 4:17). We will embrace, and there will be tears of joy on BOTH SIDES, as we know we are finally WITH our person and He knows He is WITH His. Amen.
