Fear No Fear

“My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:2, MEV). This is a TRUTH. A statement of reality. No matter the circumstances. No matter what is happening. Are they banging on the door? Are they pulling up outside your church to deport you? Are you being pulled out of a line? Are bombs falling? Is the natural world around you going crazy with fires and quakes and lightning? Are things crazy and chaotic? Gas prices up? Food scarce? Politics discombobulated? Your help is in one place and one place alone. Your help comes from THE LORD. There are NO other sources, NO other locations, NO other places, NO other ANYTHING. Our help is in the Lord. THAT is where it comes from. HE is ready to help us ALL THE TIME. Are we submitted to Him? Are we ready to listen and to obey? It won’t be hard, because we are acknowledging that He MADE heaven and earth. He MADE everything. All the situations that we see as so troubling, chaotic, dangerous, destroying, concerning, or horrific are happening at a location HE MADE. The MAKER is ALWAYS greater than the MADE. I am bigger and more powerful than the books I write, the pottery I have made, the floor I built, or the furniture I have assembled. I can break them. I can burn them. I can flush them. I can throw them out. And I can make sure they are in a safe place. I can make sure they’re treated right. I can make sure they last for a VERY long time. I can move where they are. I can send them anywhere I choose. I am superior to them. In a greater way, the Lord is superior to the Earth. The Lord is superior to humanity – male or female. The Lord is superior to all of our structures, nations, groups, positions, or what have you. If it is in the Earth or if it is made by humanity, He is superior. If it is in the universe ANYWHERE, He is superior. He IS the LORD. And HE has our help. Remember to turn to Him. Remember to let Him handle things. He is MORE THAN ENOUGH! He LOVES us. Listen to Him. Obey Him. Let Him call the shots. He IS our HELP – and who doesn’t like to be helped? Let Him help. He IS the LORD!
