‘And it will be in the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.
Acts 2:17
Adonai gives us all things freely. We don’t have to work for them. It is because we are valued and treated as Jesus deserves, since we exist in and through Him (John 15:5; 2 Corinthians 5:21). We get what HE deserves, not what WE deserve. So everything is sent our way. Made available to us. The ball exists, and it is being passed into our court. The question is always what WE are going to do. Do we perceive the ball? Do we know what to do with it? Are we scared of it? Have we been taught how to catch it? And it goes on. The unknowns are on the RECEIVING end, NOT the GIVING end. Always.
It is not a question of power available, because ALL power is available. It is a question of knowledge of the power that is operating within us. It won’t operate if we have no idea HOW it operates. Having a billion watts of electricity coming to your house won’t do you any good if you don’t know how to plug things in and then operate light switches and power buttons. It works EXACTLY the same way in the Kingdom. “Now to the one who is able to do beyond all measure more than all that we ask or think, according to the power that is at work in us, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen” (Ephesians 3:20-21, emphasis mine). It is the power working within us that determines how much of the “beyond measure” we have arriving in and around us. What IS the power? “On account of this, I bend my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that he may grant you according to the riches of his glory to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner person, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith (you having been firmly rooted and established in love), in order that you may be strong enough to grasp together with all the saints what is the breadth, and length, and height, and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, in order that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:14-19, emphasis mine). The love of Jesus. That’s the power at work in us.
Our knowledge of the love of Jesus for us (as a whole, in our exact situation, etc) is the power that transforms us, works within us, and enables us to receive more of the power – the will of the Father operating in and through us who are cooperating with Him in humble submission. The more we know about Jesus love, the more we can submit to His will and be led in His yoke (Matthew 11:28-30). We are to trust in Jesus ALL the time. Ruach HaKodesh convicts us about whether or not we know we are the righteousness of Adonai and whether or not we are trusting Jesus (John 16:8). Essentially, He reminds us of who we are in Messiah Jesus. He reminds us that we CAN trust in Jesus in the moment we are in. Every time. Our knowledge of Jesus’ love really shows us who Jesus is. The more we know who He is, the more we will be able to put trust in Him. The more we trust Him, the more we will believe Him – it’s always easy to believe someone you trust. This mix of knowledge leading to trust leading to belief should ALL be based on the Word because the Word is THE truth – and Ruach HaKodesh is the Ruach of Truth.
Much like how we need to be worshipping to make sure that we are properly aligned with Adonai, we need to be in communication with Ruach HaKodesh to regulate the RECEPTION of the flow of power from Adonai. If we truly want to cooperate with Adonai, we need to be ready to do what He asks, when He asks, in the way that He asks. Period. If He is LORD, then we submit to Him. Kings don’t ask for votes. They state what they want, their subjects do it. Period. Part of how we are to pray is to get into alignment with Adonai and OBEY Him: “May your kingdom come, may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). That is NOT passive prayer. Jesus prayed this way. He prayed ACTIVELY. He prayed SUBMITTED to the Father (John 5:19; 12:49). We’re to follow His example in all things.
Ruach HaKodesh reminds us of who we are and what we are. Who supplies us and what is supplied. He also reminds and instructs us on WHY. The love Jesus has for us isn’t learned knowledge but REVELATION knowledge. Commentary on the Word. Explanation revealing the motives, emotions, and desires of Adonai that are both seen and revealed in scripture, but understood in Ruach HaKodesh. We can’t do it alone. We NEED Him to shed light on it for us. “But the natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he is not able to understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. Now the spiritual person discerns all things, but he himself is judged by no one. “For who has known the mind of the Lord; who has advised him?” But we have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:14-16). We’re not seeking something new, we are asking for the revelation of what has been placed before us. The light that will illuminate the truth that is RIGHT THERE. For the unlocking of OUR understanding of His love for us (John 3:16-18).
If we prepare the vessel (Romans 12:2), it will be easier to receive. The more developed the vessel, the more we can receive. It is an ongoing process leading us deeper and deeper into the love of Jesus and our knowledge of Him, the Word made flesh (John 1:1-5, 14-18). The more we know, the more effectively we can cooperate with Him. Think of the witness we could be to others. Think of the worship – individual and corporate – that we could offer up. Think of the glory that can be shone on Adonai IF we understand how to effectively cooperate with Him. It all comes from knowledge of Jesus’ love for us. And our personal teacher is Ruach HaKodesh. So get to class and start to listen and take notes. It’s always on, it’s always open, and it is ALWAYS true.
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: 1 John 5:20
“And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, in order that we may know the one who is true, and we are in the one who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This one is the true God and eternal life.” Jesus came and GAVE us understanding. He ALREADY gave it. “And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit” (John 20:22). We got Ruach HaKodesh when we got saved (Acts 2:38). We already HAVE what we need to know Him. When we know Him we get filled. The more we know, the more we will be filled until ALL the fullness rests within us. Our part is simple: know Jesus. All the complicated parts HE already GAVE us. It is OURS. ALREADY OURS. We don’t need to seek it, find it, or discover it. We only need to engage (or open) the gift He already put in our hands. Isn’t that one of the BEST things about Adonai? He equips us before He even tells us what we need to do. He ensures our success before we know there is a success to be had. And He give us abundantly above what we deserve because Adonai deals with us only as we are in Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21). Which means WE get what JESUS deserves! Isn’t that awesome? What a GOOD God!
