Fear No Fear

“O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I get up; You understand my thought from far off. You search my path and my lying down and are aware of all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O Lord, You know it fully. You put Yourself behind and before me, and keep Your hand on me” (Psalm 139:1-5, MEV). He knows us. That’s a pretty great thing. That God Himself knows you inside and out. Better than you know yourself. That He knows things even before we open our mouths to express them. Do you know what the BEST thing about that is? He still wants us to speak. He STILL wants to talk to us. He knows everything that we could possibly say, and He still wants to sit down and speak with us. To communicate with us. After a long day, He will still want us to tell Him about it – even though He was there with us and watched everything we did. God is a COMMUNICATOR. He doesn’t dumb things down, He lifts us up into understanding (Romans 12:2). He is SO familiar with us, but He STILL LOVES US. He really is a GOOD Father and a GOOD God. The days we miss it, He wants to spend time and talk. The days we do well, He wants to spend time and talk. No matter WHAT our performance is, it doesn’t change His desire to spend time and talk (part of which is US listening). He loves us. Period. And WANTS to spend time with us and talk. How great is that?
