“Turn at my reproof; surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you” (Proverbs 1:23). The Lord doesn’t have an attitude of judgment toward us (John 3:16-18). He has an attitude of LOVE. But every good Father disciplines their children when their children go astray or miss it. God disciplines us (Hebrews 12:6). One of the ministries of the Holy Spirit is to correct us. That correction is His discipline. He doesn’t send earthquakes, sicknesses, or disasters. Oh, God can use ANYTHING to teach us lessons and He does. But the TOOL God PREFERS is the Word (2 Timothy 3:16). Holy Spirit speaks to us about the Word, about trusting in Jesus, and brings to mind what we’ve heard. All of that is to adjust our course. Micro-adjustments or major adjustments. That is the correction we need, the reproof we need, to stay in the centre of His will as we walk the Way. When we do that? When we pay attention to the correction and humbly submit? The talking to us doesn’t STOP. It INCREASES. It becomes more and more. The correction prepares us to receive the truth He wants to talk with us about. Isn’t that great? We’re not corrected and then ghosted. We’re corrected and the Ghost goes to work!
