Psalm 30 is a song of dedication by David when the tabernacle was dedicated in Jerusalem (or possibly written for the dedication of the Temple Solomon ended up building). It magnifies God and what He does for us.
Psalm 31 is a declaration of trust. When situations were harsh. When opposition had risen. When persecutions were happening. The psalmist WOULD trust in God, the ONLY trustworthy One.
Psalm 32 is a look at all the blessings in the life of the one who trusts in God, seeks His face, and makes Him Lord.
Psalm 33 is a declaration of how great God is and a call to rejoice and worship He who created all things, has authority over all things, and is THE source of all things. It is saying that when we truly look at who and what God is, the only right response is thanksgiving and worship.
Psalm 34 is about the JOY and GOODNESS that run through the life of the one who trusts in God – especially when things look bad. It is a reminder that the best praise is praise while trusting God. Declaring that what WE experience does not matter and only who God is matters.
“Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of Yahweh. Who is the man who desires life, who loves many days in order to see good?” (Psalm 34:11-12)
Psalm 35 is a reminder for the psalmist, all the hearers of the psalm, and the Lord that God IS the One who looks after His children. It is a call for rejoicing because you are a child of God. A reminder that we can take assurance God protects and fights for His children. There is NOTHING that can stand against Him.
