“As the deer pants after the water brooks, so my soul pants after You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When will I come and appear before God?” (Psalm 42:1-2, MEV). Because we have life from God, our breath His breath, we are incomplete without Him. We CRAVE Him. We THIRST for Him. But whether or not we come to Him is dependent on us. No one can come to the Father without being called (John 6:44). But once called, we CAN come. We can get there through Jesus (John 14:6). Our behaviour can cause us problems after salvation. We can choose to sin and feel guilty. Circumstances can come against us and make us feel downtrodden. We can feel so far from God, but it is NOT TRUE! God is ALWAYS with us (Hebrews 13:8). Holy Spirit lives INSIDE of us (1 Corinthians 3:16). God is NOT far. He is RIGHT THERE. It is OUR feelings that prevent us. OUR thinking that blinds us. When will we appear before God? As soon as we offer Him praise and GO (Psalm 100:4). The gates of heaven are unlocked and open wide. Our place is beside the Father right under Jesus’ head: WE ARE HIS BODY. We CANNOT be away from Him (Romans 8:31-39). Do not let yourself be fooled. STAND ON THE WORD (James 4:7). It says we will be satisfied (Matthew 5:6). We no longer have to thirst because Jesus soothes and provides all the water we will EVER need (John 7:37)!
