Psalm 43 is a good Old Covenant prayer. Yearning for God’s light (Jesus) and His truth (the Word). Of going to the altar of God (we are the Temple of Holy Spirit) and praising Him there (we are to continually praise the Lord). And a reminder – for us all – not to let our feelings dominate us, but to let our praise of the Lord order our lives.
Psalm 44 is a song of reminder. Although the circumstances currently seem negative and overwhelming, redemption comes from the Lord and those who seek Him first, find it.
Psalm 45 is a wedding song about Messiah and His Covenant Bride (the church or in other words those who covenant with Messiah Jesus).
Psalm 46 is praising God for being our rock and fortress. Our strong place of refuge amidst turbulent events. Our sanctuary during times of peace.
Psalm 47 is a celebration of the kingship of God. An exalting of Him above the Earth.
Psalm 48 is glorifying God in all His ways. It speaks of people who carefully examine Him and praise Him for all of who He is. A looking to Him to be our guide in life.
Psalm 49 is a lament on the foolishness of the wicked. All the things they THINK is going on, contrasted with what is spiritually/eternally going on, and the refuge from all of it that God provides.
Psalm 50 is a song celebrating the Righteous Judge and His desire to be close to His chosen people. It is a look at the ways that He sustains those who love and honour Him. The ways He cares for them. It also contains warnings to those who despise Him and spurn His ways. Nothing good happens to them, but He is always willing to accept a repentful heart.
