Psalm 51 is a prayer of mercy. It is acknowledging sin and iniquity and praying for redemption. A restoration of a clean heart and good relationship. This has all been accomplished in Jesus.
Psalm 52 is warning the wicked of their ending and praising God for the ending of the peaceful in heart.
Psalm 53 calls to the God of Heaven, thanking Him for the restoration of Israel. Lamenting the wicked while looking forward to the salvation of Israel.
Psalm 54 is a request for help from enemies and a declaration that they WILL trust God who delivers them out of all their troubles.
Psalm 55 is calling on God to remain as faithful as always in spite of the psalmist feeling surrounded and enclosed by his enemies. He acknowledges his fear and worry, but also declares his trust in God. That God will hear and come against his enemies, defeating them.
Psalm 56 is calling on God to bring relief from those that torment the psalmist. Although he is surrounded day and night by those who seek his end, David declares his trust in God and assurance that he will be delivered by his Lord.
Psalm 57 is a prayer for safety. He calls to God and throws himself on God’s mercy. He declares that he WILL trust in God and WILL sing His praises no matter his personal circumstances.
Psalm 58 celebrates the just judgment of the wicked, regardless of how they see themselves. It is a warning that all things end and NOTHING is hidden from God.
Psalm 59 is a song of thanksgiving that no matter where they are found or how well they think it is going, the judgment of God comes on everyone eventually. The wicked can be assured of judgment.
Psalm 60 is a teaching psalm about the restoration of His people. That God will end captivity and will restore fortunes. That God would triumph at the last and restore those who love and keep him.
