Fear No Fear

“My zeal consumes me, because my enemies have forgotten your words. Your word is very pure, and your servant loves it” (Psalm 119:139-140, LEB). What great opportunities God has given us. And what great REASONS for the opportunities! Jesus told us we would be lights in this dark world (Matthew 5:14-16). He wasn’t really telling us that we would become like lights. He was telling us the same thing as the psalmist. The purity of the Word would lead us to love it. And like those passionately in love, we want to declare it from the rooftops. Since this love is available for everyone (John 3:16-18), we want EVERYONE to be in love we TELL THEM about it. Anyone who catches the love, wants to spread the love. The purity of the Word fuels it. Because we see WHO God is without any human input. He reveals Himself in the book HE wrote EVERY WORD OF. We don’t have to worry about getting it wrong, it explains itself. It supports its arguments. It shows the loving, grace-filled, merciful character of God. And since we have the author living inside us (Holy Spirit), He can explain to us any bits we need His Light on to understand better. We get filled with zeal, because our spirits connect with His and there is NOTHING like being connected to God! It’s too good to keep to ourselves. It’s too good to try and hide. Everyone not only deserves this, but they were MADE to have it.
