Daily Affirmation #218

The angel of the Lord camps around those who fear Him, and delivers them” (Psalm 34:7, MEV). It’s a simple formula. Easy to miss when you’re looking for complicated and esoteric instructions based around sacrifice, hard work, and a real inner struggle. The things of the Lord are simple. Easy for children to understand. If we revere the Lord, we’re protected and He delivers us from those who camp against us (Isaiah 54:17). Revering the Lord isn’t singing a few songs a week in a dusty church your grandparents used to attend when they were courting. It is a daily attitude where you are looking for opportunities to thank Him for things. Where you are looking for opportunities to praise. Where you maintain a grateful heart. Where you seek His advice and input into every situation, no matter how trivial or personal or complex. It is making HIM the centre of your life and story, not yourself. You’re a VITAL character, but He is the CENTRAL character. When we do that, everything seems to flow. That living water comes from the Throne, right up through Jesus, and up out of our own spirit, cooling us down and hydrating our lives with His glory. His grace flows through our lives providing solutions we didn’t work for and supplies we didn’t purchase with our own sweat. God has angels assisting us. His hand is upon us. His Spirit is inside us. And Jesus is constantly interceding for us in ways we don’t even understand. If you revere the Lord and put Him first? It is amazing what THE BLESSING will bring to pass. Amen.
