Fear No Fear

“A prudent man foresees the evil and hides himself, but the simple pass on and are punished” (Proverbs 27:12, MEV). God doesn’t hide what’s coming. He really doesn’t. We don’t know the TIMES things will happen (Matthew 24:36), but WHAT is going to happen is told to us (Amos 3:7). We see it in the Old Covenant with MANY warnings over DECADES to His children trying to get them to repent so He could remove judgment. We see it in the Gospels, with Jesus speaking of His death and resurrection again and again so that the disciples could avoid fear and depression when it came to pass. And we see it throughout the New Covenant where we are told of things that have yet to come to pass. God lets us know what’s coming. God recommends courses of action. And God makes sure that we know both who is in control and the eventual outcome so that we can avoid fear and depression in the intervening time (John 14:1). God loves us too much to leave us in the dark. He loves us too much to leave us with nothing secure to hold to during times of upheaval and change. God loves us too much to leave us without eager expectation. He is a GOOD God and a MERCIFUL God and He wants us to be at peace in His Rest, not panicked, worried, anxious, depressed, or fearful. He ALWAYS lets us know so that we KNOW we have a secure, safe, and strong foundation: God Almighty Himself. Amen.
