Chapter twenty-three continues the Thirty Sayings, giving us from saying seven to saying nineteen. The focus is mainly the condition and guidance of our hearts. The value of putting in the best things (God’s things) and giving constant attention to what we are looking at and listening to.
Chapter twenty-four gives us saying twenty to thirty and then other sayings of wise people. The focus is mainly on positive and negative actions and their direct influence on the outcome of our lives – the amount of trouble or prosperity that we walk in.
Chapter twenty-five is the start of a section listing more proverbs of Solomon that continues through chapter twenty-nine. They are specifically the proverbs that the men of King Hezekiah copied down (Proverbs 25:1; 1 Kings 4:32; 2 Kings 18:3-6). The focus of this chapter is behavioural, giving principles for positive living with far-reaching consequences.
Chapter twenty-six is mostly an examination of what happens when we act foolishly. When we don’t weigh our actions against the consequences of those actions.
