“Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20, MEV). God is always there looking to catch our attention. He isn’t giving up. He isn’t shrugging His shoulders saying ‘I guess they aren’t home’ and wandering off. He is right there actively knocking (through the constant speakings of Holy Spirit to us – John 14:26). And He isn’t going anywhere anytime soon (Hebrews 13:5). What is our role? We have to open the door! The Lord doesn’t FORCE us in ANYTHING. We ALWAYS have a choice. He stands at the door of our attention. At the door of our hearts. At the door of our dreams. At the door of our pleasures. At the door of our relationships. At the door of our employment. At the door of our finances. At every door we have in our lives, our minds, our hearts, and our personalities. He is THERE. But WE have to be willing to let Him in. To let Him be Lord in each of those places. To give of ourselves to Him and to receive from Him Himself. To be willing to be transformed from everything we THINK we know and everything we DO know into everything HE knows we can be, do, have, and share in Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21). It is a mark of our love for Him that we open the door in humble obedience. Giving Him place over our Self. It is simple, but not easy. Jesus IS patience. Jesus IS love. Jesus IS kindness. He is not TAKING from us, He is GIVING to us. Giving us FREEDOM. Giving us true HEALTH. Giving us MORE THAN ENOUGH. Don’t limit God. Let Him into everything you have and are one door at a time. Let Him renovate you and don’t fight it. Cooperate with it and let Him make you into a shining light, a little Jesus (Psalm 82:6; Matthew 18:3), someone who gives glory to God in EVERYTHING they do and EVERYTHING they are! He doesn’t want us rundown and broken. He wants us whole and joyful. He loves us that much. He is there, knocking. Let Him go to work and give Him a hand with it.
