Fear No Fear

“My soul loathes my life; I will freely give my complaint, I will speak in the bitterness of my soul” (Job 10:1. MEV). We are so very quick to judge everything by OUR experience. By how things relate to US. It is a VERY human and a VERY selfish way to process life. Do we have suffering? Yes. Do we have hardships? Yes. But they do NOT have to be PROBLEMS. They CAN be SITUATIONS. They can be places that we inhabit with a PLAN, the proper set of TOOLS, and the STRENGTH to get to the other side. We have all three of these things in and through Jesus. We do NOT need to have fear or stress about ANYTHING (2 Timothy 1:7). We can CHOOSE to have God as our SOURCE. Jesus did in the boat, but the disciples did not (Mark 4:35-41). Jesus was in a situation. The disciples had a problem. BOTH had lives at stake. BOTH were uncomfortable. BOTH were serious. But Jesus relied on what He heard and saw from His Father. The disciples didn’t rely on God, but turned to Jesus, desperate for His help. But they had the ABILITY to rely on God. On the WORD that they WERE to cross the sea. They didn’t TRUST that word in the face of what they saw. Jesus TRUSTED in the word in the face of what He saw. God GAVE us a spirit of power, love, and self-control so that we could CHOOSE what HE offered us in Jesus: peace, authority, the Word to stand on, and guidance (which sometimes means staying put). If we put our TRUST in what Jesus said and BELIEVE Him by growing the strength of our trust through hearing the Word, there is NOTHING that we will not be able to do, go through, or accomplish for His glory as we cooperate with Him. He made SURE to give us what we need to succeed EVERY time. Turn problems into situations by relying on Him for guidance, strength, and everything else you need to get to the other side of it.
