“Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them” (Ephesians 5:6-7, MEV). These sons are not those who sin casually or who let themselves be dragged down. These sons are those who sin on purpose. Who consciously reject the Lord and intentfully walk in the opposite direction. We’re being warned not to let them deceive us. They are not walking a different path to truth. They are not accessing ancient wisdoms that existed before ‘Christianity’ or ‘Judaism’. They are not vibing into the universe and reaping the benefits of manifestation. These are sinners. They are sinning on purpose. They are CHOOSING separation from God. We are not to be like them. We are not to be deceived by them. Our default nature is the opposite from theirs. They are rebellers. We are lovers. We were loved first (1 John 4:19). We were loved best (John 15:13). And since we love Him back, we WANT to obey (John 14:15-17). Every true follower of Jesus love Him and do not want to do anything to displease Him. Not just ‘want’, but they actively strive to please Him (1 John 3:3; Hebrews 11:6). He helps us with this. Ruach HaKodesh reminds us of what Jesus said. He comforts us. He lives with us. He gives us His Fruit so that we can experience the character of God as our own. He helps us in EVERY way. And He warns us of the dangers of getting lazy in our thinking (Romans 12:2), which leads to accepting an attitude in life that doesn’t help us at all. God loves us so much, He actively helps us to succeed. What a GREAT God!
