Ruach HaKodesh “Enabler of Inheritance”

(All scripture from Lexham English Bible, Copyright 2012 Logos Bible Software)

He who is good will leave an inheritance to his grandchildren, and stored up for the righteous is the wealth of a sinner.”

Proverbs 13:22

Adonai understands prosperity in a different way than we do. We tend to think in terms of ourselves. Adonai thinks in terms of generations. We tend to think downward. Adonai thinks in every direction. We tend to think of ‘deserve’. Adonai thinks of GRACE and MERCY. We amass. He GIVES. These fundamental differences is why we have such trouble with the word ‘prosperity’.

Adonai thinks prosperity is a condition that should simply BE. It starts in our spirits and spreads to every single area of our lives (3 John 2).. He does not limit it to financial things, economic things, situational things, geographical things, or any singular element. Prosperity tends to be made up of three things. First, Adonai as your Source. Second, a focus on His Word, His Way (including character), and His moral structure. Third, giving away or blessing. Through these three things we gain prosperity. And if we are serious about it, it will manifest as INHERITANCE. An inheritance that goes BOTH ways, Which can be strange to us, but time doesn’t work how WE experience it. Not really. Adonai is just as concerned with the inheritance we give to our parents as He is about the inheritance we give to our kids. “Honor your father and your mother, so that your days can be long on the land that Yahweh your God is giving you” (Exodus 20:12). We honour our parents in order to gain TIME for ourselves. With that TIME, we can honour our children and grandchildren with inheritance.

Inheritance should start in the spiritual, because that is where prosperity starts. That is the FIRST STEP to kick lack to the curb. When we lean into the love Jesus has for us THAT unlocks the BLESSING. Anyone can be blessed by Adonai, but only the submitted obedient followers of Jesus unlock the BLESSING. Don’t get hung up on submission. It means to come under (sub) the mission. Jesus’ mission is the Gospel message. We were tasked with continuing His mission (Matthew 28:19-20). We submit to that to provide spiritual guidance based on His truth. His love. His salvation (which provides EVERYTHING from health to wealth). All of it under HIM. To give Adonai glory with ALL of it, and to hold onto it like Abraham did: steward what you have, tithe to Adonai out of your firstfruits, and hold NOTHING back when you are asked to bless others. If you do that, you will have possessions and wealth; they will not have you. If we don’t teach and disciple our kids in how to put Adonai first and keep the Word foremost in their minds, ears, eyes, and hearts, how can they prosper?

Inheritance should continue to the emotional and relational, because that is the nuts and bolts of human communication and fellowship. “And let us think about how to stir one another up to love and good works, not abandoning our meeting together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging each other, and by so much more as you see the day drawing near” (Hebrews 10:24-25). “Therefore what should you do, brothers? Whenever you come together, each one of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. All things must be done for edification” (1 Corinthians 14:26). “Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, just as indeed you are doing” (1 Thessalonians 5:11). This is how we should be raising our kids. With real emotional intelligence. With real listening skills. With Word-based empathy – which encourages and relates with kindness and generosity, but does not affirm ungodly ideas. If we are not teaching and discipling our kids in how they can live and thrive in godly values and communication, how can they prosper?

Inheritance next comes to the physical. Both health and finances. We need to steward both resources. Both are a GIFT and do not really belong to us. Like everything on this world of ours, they BELONG to Adonai. They are HIS things. We are here to steward them. To treat them with honour and to view them through His eyes. To keep them and tend them and prosper them through godly practices. If He asks for them, we should be prepared to give them. After all, they are His. In the same way, we really should be giving the VERY BEST version of them we can manage to give. This means learning how to properly care for them. How to properly use them. How to properly nurture them. This takes real skills. Skills that are NOT taught properly in schools – if they’re taught at all. If we don’t give our children the skills and knowledge to grow themselves into strong, capable people and their finances into fluid, functioning assets, how can we expect them to prosper?

All these areas give opportunity to do more than throw money or a house at our kids. They are opportunities to teach. To grow values. To instill real values in them. The world won’t. The world is an impersonal machine designed to bring lack. To put people and whole family lines into poverty and keep them there. Ruach HaKodesh is THE Ruach of Truth. That means He KNOWS the steps we need to take. He KNOWS the skills we need to learn. He KNOWS the best way for us to pass those skills onto the next generations. He KNOWS the Way we should travel. We need to learn to listen. To obey. To understand that we might not understand everything, but it WORKS because it is based on ADONAI. These are VITAL truths that we need to KNOW and we need to APPLY. Adonai is our SOURCE. Ruach HaKodesh is our INSTRUCTOR. We have ALL the tools to make an inheritance. Remember: if you have enough to pass on, you have MORE THAN ENOUGH for yourself! THAT is prosperity!

Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Hebrews 3:13

But encourage one another day by day, as long as it is called “today,” so that none of you become hardened by the deception of sin. The devil wants to keep us BLIND (2 Corinthians 4:4). Adonai wants us to be FREE (Galatians 5:1). One of the ways that Adonai has given us to help keep us free is each other. He has given us Fellowship in Jesus. Because the more eyes there are on something, the easier it is to see that it is false. That it is a detriment. That it is damaging. Sure, we may make our own bad decisions here and there, but on the whole think of the decisions we can AVOID simply because of the experience of other Word-believing, Jesus-trusting, Ruach HaKodesh-listening to people that we can get together and discuss things with! Not ONLY does Jesus promise to NEVER leave us, He ALSO gives us each other to encourage and help strengthen our resolve. To give us a way to counter the ungodly value system that the world blindly accepts. To give us a way to help each other test to see what is good and to hold onto what is good. Not only for ourselves, but also for the previous AND the next generations which surround us. What a GOOD God!

I taste and see that Yahweh is good; I am blessed because I take refuge in Him.
