“One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him, “There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two small fish. But what are they among so many?” Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, numbering about five thousand” (John 6:8-10, MEV). Jesus had it in mind to feed these people. He had an image of it. Jesus NEVER did anything without having an image of it in His spirit (John 5:19). In prayer, He had SEEN Himself feeding the multitude, so when food showed up He was READY. In the same way, WE aren’t called to do ANYTHING without first being SHOWN it. IF we are listening, there will be an image in us about what we will be doing in, through, and because of Jesus. God ALWAYS shows us so that we also WILL be ready. If you’re not ready, opportunities pass you by. God doesn’t want ANY of His opportunities to pass us by (Ephesians 1:3). He uses Holy Spirit to talk to us. To paint pictures for us based on His Word. So that we too can SEE what He wants to do. So we can ready ourselves to OBEY when the opportunity arises. So we can be READY TO OBEY when Holy Spirit stirs us to action. So we can stir our own trust in Him through His Word and through prayer so that WE are equipped and ready for Him. There is such great peace and security that comes from knowing He gives us the idea, gives us the equipment, and helps us prepare ourselves BEFORE we are called to use or do anything. What a great way to operate!
