Daily Affirmation #247

For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say” (Acts 12:12, MEV). Because of how much God loves us, He does not leave us stuttering or without something to say. Not nonsense, but intentful words designed to get directly to the heart of the situation with authority and truth. This is the way that Jesus spoke (John 12:49). It is the way WE can speak when we rely on listening to Holy Spirit and rest in Jesus. If we are relying on HIM as our Source, God will ALWAYS come through. If we will take those few moments necessary to check in with Holy Spirit before we open our mouths in a conversation, we can be assured that we will be told what we need to say. Words that will heal, help, encourage, and bless – even when they are tough. But we need to say what HE says to say the way HE says to say it. We cannot let ourselves run the conversation. We need to make ourselves submit and cooperate with Him in everything that leaves our lips. He is faithful. He is true. He is trustworthy. We can be real blessings to those around us and enrich our relationships if we will just leash our tongue and take the time to find out how He wants us to use it. He blesses us with the right words so that we in turn can bless others. So much trouble and misunderstanding can be avoided by leaning into His love not just for us, but for those around us too.
