Fear No Fear

“As it is written: “Look! I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, and whoever believes in Him will not be ashamed.”” (Romans 9:33, MEV). Jesus can really mess us up. We want to do things one way or have things one way, and He is right there saying a different way is THE Way. Society wants to choose ways of being and behaving that are clearly not Jesus approved. So they stumble. They fall over the TRUTH and get hurt. Then they blame Jesus for being in their way. But He is the rock that is in the stream protecting us from going over the waterfall. If we will cling to Him, we will be safe. If we follow His direction, we won’t go over the waterfall. If we will put down our offense and truly LISTEN to what Jesus is saying, we will see it is for our BENEFIT. It is not a negative, but an overwhelming POSITIVE. Yes, it might go against something we are feeling or an opinion we have. Yes, it might cause us to rethink a political stance or what entertainment we are digesting or something else. But that’s what is natural and normal. For the HUMAN to reshape their thinking to align with JESUS. Jesus is God and God is RIGHT, TRUE, and CORRECT. Every time. We’ve been given the Spirit of Truth (Holy Spirit) so that we have two witnesses testifying to us. So that we can KNOW the rightness of Jesus. So that we can stand on Him instead of being caught up by the current of current human thinking. We have been given a Way to not only survive, but to THRIVE! He is so VERY good to us. But we need to choose it. We need to seek it, align with it, and stand on it (James 4:7; Romans 12:2). And when things start to ‘go down’? We will be standing on Him. Proud. Unashamed. Secure in Him. Loving and being Loved. Shining for all those coming down the river to see and join. An example of the GOODNESS of Jesus.
