“And I will give a new heart to you, and a new spirit I will give into your inner parts, and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh, and I will give to you a heart of flesh.”
Ezekiel 36:26
Adonai’s will is to have a relationship with Him. Yet on the whole, I think we’re toxic partners. He is ever-faithful and merciful. We’re selfish and stray consistently. we aren’t honest – not with ourselves and not with Him. We often shy away from what His character really is, and instead create a narrative in our head where HE is the bad guy. Everything Adonai does is meant to bring us back to His loving embrace. We’re looking to satisfy ourselves, do no real work, and expect everything to turn out okay. WE are what is wrong with the relationship between Adonai and humanity. WE are the problem.
“You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father! That one was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand firm in the truth, because truth is not in him. Whenever he speaks the lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44). This is the default position of the world. We learned it from the cradle on up to salvation. The ruts this made in our thinking are so deep, it is STILL our default position in ANY and EVERY area we have not taken the effort to work on. Not only do we lie to ourselves about Adonai’s character, not only do we swallow the devil’s lies about how things are and who Adonai is, we lie to OURSELVES about OURSELVES. How sad is that?
Proper alignment with Adonai’s point of view and moral character will change everything you know about yourself and enable you to kick doubt to the curb every time. When we gain a deep understanding of who we are in Jesus, this enables us to easily cooperate with our inner corrector and guide – Ruach HaKodesh – as He leads us into godly and meaningful decisions and directions in the external world around us. Decisions and directions straight from the Word and inhabiting the heart of Adonai for us and those we come into contact with. We get that alignment when we choose to humbly submit to what we find in the Word. We can’t do it in ourselves. We need to acknowledge we are in a RELATIONSHIP with Adonai – and we all know we need to expend effort to keep a relationship healthy.
This is how you get a healthy relationship. You align your thinking to cooperate with your partner. You are not the SAME. You are COMPLIMENTARY (Genesis 2:18). We are NOT the same as Adonai (Isaiah 55:8-9), but through Ruach HaKodesh we can be COMPLIMENTARY in our thinking by COOPERATING with His (1 Corinthians 2:16). No one wants to be in a toxic relationship. They cause damage. They scar you. They keep you from functioning well in later relationships. We are blessed in that Adonai doesn’t HAVE that issue. He is ready for ANYTHING we dole out. But the TRUTH is that it is US who move away from HIM. We are the ones who suffer. We are the ones who damage ourselves. We are the ones who develop trust issues because of our lies, our broken thinking, and our lack of true communication. This is what we need to avoid. The way to avoid it is to pay attention to the alignment specialist.
Ruach HaKodesh ALWAYS knows the PERFECT way to get us back with Adonai. How to deepen our relationship. How to make Him Number One. How to worship with clarity in our spirits. How to worship truthfully. How to be grateful. What to say, what to accept in our thinking, and what strongholds in our mindscape need to be torn down and destroyed so that we can move forward in Him. The more we listen to Him and seek His wisdom, the better off we are with Adonai. The better relationship we have. The better relationship we have, the more we can grow as we seek to embody His character, His morals, and His lifestyle (that Jesus modelled for us – Romans 8:29). Piece by piece, day by day, when we seek Him and follow what Ruach HaKodesh tells us to, we become more like Jesus (2 Corinthians 3:18). This is the goal of our life and the will of the Father: to have a relationship with Him. A healthy one full of love and growth.
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: 1 Peter 2:21-22
“For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his footsteps, who did not commit sin, nor was deceit found in his mouth,” There is a lot of trouble in the world and a fair bit of persecution. Mass shootings, singular assassinations, political landscaping, moral backwardness, scientific denial of biological truth, societal norms and acceptance and pushiness, and a dozen other things from warfare to natural disasters to you can almost name anything. These things aren’t pleasant. People’s attitudes and behaviours aren’t pleasant. Attacks and their aftermath aren’t pleasant. They can cause real suffering – physical, emotional, and mental. But Jesus went through it before us. And you know what? He OVERCAME THE WORLD (John 16:33). Better than that, JESUS told US to seek Him and REST IN HIM so that WE would ALSO overcome (1 John 5:4; John 14:27). We can have PEACE while the world is in turmoil. Not because we are better, but because we inhabit better promises. Because we have a Saviour who shepherds us. Because HIS NAME is a tower of strength and protection that was created just for those who believe in Him, trust in Him, and humbly submit to Him as Lord and Elohim. Nothing can take that away, defeat that, or make it tumble down. What a GOOD God!
