“But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me” (2 Corinthians 12:9, MEV). We all experience hardships and persecution. Paul certainly did. His list of weaknesses is impressive (2 Corinthians 11:23-30). When we preach the message of Jesus, we are resisted and persecuted by those hit hard by the message of God’s love (Matthew 24:9). Even today in our ‘modern’ and ‘developed’ culture, we see people persecuted and killed for speaking up about Jesus. These are hard things to bear up under. When we can’t handle it anymore, that is when Jesus takes over. When we cannot take another step, His perfect strength takes the step for us. Jesus’ strength is manifest when we feel weak and it manifests to bring glory to His Name. God’s strength enables us to do things that we cannot do on our own. He does not call us to actions, words, and testimonies, and then leave us to crawl around. He walks with us. He give us His strength. He helps us with the next step. He delivers us from our weakness with Himself (John 15:5). Our mindset gets to be continuing trust in and dependence on Jesus regardless of the circumstances we face. We live through the strengthening power of Messiah Jesus, which comes to us from the Father, through Holy Spirit (Romans 8:11). It cannot be stopped. It cannot be prevented. When we trust in Jesus and believe what He says, it is there, it is available to us, and it sustains us through ALL THINGS. Amen.
