“Jesus said to them, “Have you understood all of these things?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” Then He said to them, “Therefore every scribe who is discipled for the kingdom of heaven is like a man who is master of the household who brings out of his treasure new and old things.”” (Matthew 13:51-52, MEV). Old Covenant and New Covenant. They are two separate covenants, the one being the perfected better version of the other (Hebrews 8:6). But the Old Testament Word and the New Testament Word are two pieces of the SAME story: God’s Love for humanity. There are many things to be learned in both parts. They compliment each other. The one builds on the other. There are echoes on both sides. It is truly an amazing work that Holy Spirit wrote. The first part shadowing and giving the example of how the second part could be recognized. The second part showing and explaining how the first part works. Love. The love of God toward us and the love we are then able to offer to Him. A communion of love, bound between Father and Son, which we are able to enter through Holy Spirit, that then gives us the right to be viewed by the Father as having the merits of the Son – by Grace (not our efforts or performance) which we MUST accept by believing Him and trusting that He is TRUE and FAITHFUL and CAN REWARD. The more we know of that love of Jesus toward us, the more we realize what position we are in Him. When we know our position, we’re able to worship more effectively, obey more consistently, and be the living sacrifices that Jesus showed us how to be. So that we can love and be loved, be love and love, and have right standing with God Almighty. Because HE thinks we’re worth it! HE thinks we’re worth LOVING. So He did. So He does. And so He ALWAYS will.
