Fear No Fear

“Do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will at once give Me more than twelve legions of angels?” (Matthew 26:53, MEV). Jesus ONLY had to die if He wanted to be a sacrifice for us. He ONLY had to die, if He WANTED to make a Way for us. He did not HAVE to. It was a choice. He made the choice before Creation. The temptation of His flesh was to NOT walk it out (Matthew 26:38). No SANE person would WANT to go through that. Jesus didn’t. But He DID want to be obedient to the will of the Father. That a sacrifice be made FOR us – since we could NOT merit it ourselves. Jesus DID want to hold to His decision to BE that sacrifice – He volunteered (Revelation 13:8). He could have chosen otherwise, but He STAYED the course. He RAN His race. He FINISHED. Well, everything Jesus did was a model for us. We too have a race to run. We too have choices to make. And no one is going to force us. No one is going to MAKE us. We get to CHOOSE to live in love with one another. We get to CHOOSE to be obedient to the will of the Father. We get to CHOOSE whether or not we will trust Jesus, believe the Word, and strengthen that trust by hearing the Word over and over and over again – by reading it, listening to it, meditating on it, and speaking it. We can give up or we can lean into Holy Spirit and everything He has for us to use in order to function as we are called to function (Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 6:10-18). We are ALLOWED to model Jesus. We are ALLOWED to rest in Him. We are ENCOURAGED to and EQUIPPED to. We get to do as He did, because He has made available to us every He had available to Him (Ephesians 1:3). He does that because He loves us. He is loving us every day into success in Himself.
