“Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat, drink the sweet drink, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”” (Nehemiah 8:10, MEV). It can be a little weird going through your day while singing under your breath, but millions of people do it every day. There was that little ‘Let It Go” phase a few years ago, remember? If Disney fans will do it, how weird could it be? (don’t answer that). The truth is that singing praise to the Lord under your breath all day is a GREAT way to keep up your strength. As effective as healthy food, it gives you what you need: His strength. It is not limited to physical strength, but to emotional, mental, and relational strength as well. We will interact better with each other when we are using His strength to power the occasion. The same is true with physical labour or mental labour. The same is true of our emotional states. With His strength powering our actions, there is little that we can’t do (Matthew 19:26). We might be at the end of ourselves, but we can feed and drink at a source BEYOND ourselves (John 4:32). God can be our Source of strength and endurance. He gives of Himself so that WE might do more (John 10:10). How great of Him is that?
