Fear No Fear

“So now abide faith, hope, and love, these three. But the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13, MEV). We are to trust in Jesus, and have been given God’s trust so that we can trust (Mark 11:22). We need to eagerly expect God to move, believing in Him and what He says He can do (Hebrews 11:6). But more than those two VITAL components of our lives, we are to LOVE. We are to experience His love, we are to share His love, we are to have revelation of His love, we are to understand the depths of His love, we are to model His love to the world by loving one another and treating each other with love, and we are to live lives based on love. Not a feeling. Not a passion. But godly love. Selfless love. God’s kind of love. He loved us so that we would and COULD love. Love is the core of the character of God and He never EVER acts against it. Our understanding of that is what colours our perception of God and what He does or can do. If we don’t have a clear picture of it we don’t have a clear picture of God. It is such a simple idea, love. But it is THE BIG THING. It cannot be gotten around. It cannot be avoided. Love IS just as God IS. And He has shared it with us so that we can understand Him. By experiencing and interacting with love, we get an idea of how we can experience and interact with Him. We have a clue that unlocks the idea of how God treats us and how very GOOD He is to us. Love is the key to everything. And God has NOT hidden it from us. What a GREAT God.
