The ear that hears and the eye that sees—the Lord has made them both.
Proverbs 20:12 (emphasis added)
We don’t go to heaven because Adonai loves us. We go to heaven because we believe in that love and choose to love Him back. In the same way, we don’t get healed because Adonai reaches down and performs a miracle. We get healed when we believe that the healing power has been released, that we have the authority and right to take it, and we engage the power according to His Word and Will. Belief is what enables us to walk in physically arrived Kingdom reality right alongside the spiritually arrived Kingdom reality. I’m in heavenly places right now, praise Elohim (Ephesians 2:6-7). I’m also in my kitchen, which is also a ‘praise Elohim’ because He paid for it. We acknowledge the seen, but we live in the unseen when we live by belief.
Seeing without eyes is hard. Because you can’t see. We aren’t asked to use something that doesn’t exist to see. We’re not trying to see with blind eyes. We’re trying to see using the eyes of our heart. They are ‘blind’, but they’re internal which makes them hard to use. Not impossible, though. All it takes is wisdom from Adonai and the revelation of Adonai. Paul prayed for that, and so should we. “I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, will give you spiritual wisdom and revelation in your growing knowledge of him,—since the eyes of your heart have been enlightened—so that you can know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the incomparable greatness of his power toward us who believe, as displayed in the exercise of his immense strength. This power he exercised in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms far above every rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And God put all things under Christ’s feet, and gave him to the church as head over all things. Now the church is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all” (Ephesians 1:17-23).
It is Elohim who will enlighten our hearts. It is He who gives wisdom (James 1:5). It is He who reveals the truth of His Word, enabling us to understand what has already been given (2 Timothy 3:16-17). It is Adonai who accomplishes these things. Our efforts don’t do it. His do it. Everything He did before Creation (Revelation 13:8). Everything He did through the cross (Hebrews 12:1-3). Everything accomplished by Jesus being resurrected to life (Romans 6:9-11; 8:34). It was all Elohim doing it, not us. The Father set it up. The Son walked it out. The Spirit was the power flowing throughout. His fullness accomplished it all. He can enlighten our hearts about all of it. But we need to cooperate with Him. That’s OUR role. That’s OUR part. A key way we accomplish this is by being free. Not free like someone who gets out of jail only to find he brought it with him. Not free like someone who cheated the system, but at any moment could be caught. Free like a child told they don’t need to do chores today. “Now people were bringing little children to him for him to touch, but the disciples scolded those who brought them. But when Jesus saw this, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the little children come to me and do not try to stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” After he took the children in his arms, he placed his hands on them and blessed them” (Mark 10:13-16).
Little children have no sense of common sense. They kind of do whatever comes into their heads. Hopefully, as good parents, you’ve put some good stuff in there. But really, if they can think of it they’ll probably try it. They’ll do a lot of running and laughing and expanding to ‘fit’ or exist in all the available space. They check out every corner. Everything is a mystery to be discovered. Half of what they find is labelled ‘cool’ or ‘neat’. The rest probably defies labels, in spite of being ordinary and almost everywhere. They’re curious. They’re joyful. They tend to see the best in everyone. They’re open with friendship, working together with almost everyone almost instantly. They love automatically and have learned no hard lessons about it. Doesn’t that sound like some things WE were told to do? Count all things JOY (James 1:2-4)? Love each other (John 13:34)? Encourage each other (1 Thessalonians 5:11)? Don’t bully each other (Romans 15:1)? Run around (Isaiah 40:31)? These are the things that should be automatic about us. Things we do without thinking. Like children. Believing, and then walking (running) it out. No baggage. No overthinking. Listening to a trusted source – Adonai Elohim – and doing what He says. For all that Jesus did and all the nuance and layered teaching He gave, it all boiled down to that for Him. He did what He was shown to do. He said what He was told to do. Obedience was His chosen mindset. He did not let the world, His disciples, or the religious thinkers pull Him off track. Ever.
Through one man death entered creation (Romans 5:12). Through one man life was restored (John 10:10). Guess what sickness is part of? DEATH!!! All sickness is an attack on the natural state of wellness. In the natural, sickness is normal. Immune systems aside, it’s natural in a fallen world for sickness to get in because the thing that keeps sickness out is missing. Jesus got it back for us: relationship with the Father. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was fully God. The Word was with God in the beginning. All things were created by him, and apart from him not one thing was created that has been created. In him was life, and the life was the light of mankind. And the light shines on in the darkness, but the darkness has not mastered it” (John 1:1-5). Still true today. Jesus is the LIGHT of Life. By Him everything was created, and by Him everything is being restored. Sickness has no hold on us. It was never part of His idea of a victorious place to live. “You must serve the Lord your God, and he will bless your bread and your water, and I will remove sickness from your midst” (Exodus 23:25).
If we will be obedient and follow in His ways, we will find ourselves in His Kingdom. His place of blessing. He carries it with Him. And He never forsakes us. “Your conduct must be free from the love of money and you must be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you and I will never abandon you.”” (Hebrews 13:5; but also Deuteronomy 31:6). The Kingdom of Elohim is near. It is a kingdom of health and wholeness. But it wants you to cooperate with it. To believe Him. As a child. Children fall, get hurt, go to their parent and get a hug or maybe a kiss and BAM it’s like nothing happened and that kid goes off running and happy – because their parent told them it was okay and they were not hurt. Oh the power of that smooch. Well, our Father in Heaven is the same way. One smooch, and we would be whole. He’s puckering up. Are you? Will you ask Him into your home? Your heart? And then believe His Word? Will you TAKE the healing He’s offering through your belief in His Word, trusting it is true? Be like a child. Believe Him. Don’t entertain doubt. Not even one. Laugh joyfully and go run around. You’re in the blessing and there is healing there for you. Go make some noise.
Daily Affirmation Jesus IS Messiah: Isaiah 53:12
“So I will assign him a portion with the multitudes, he will divide the spoils of victory with the powerful, because he willingly submitted to death and was numbered with the rebels, when he lifted up the sin of many and intervened on behalf of the rebels.”” Messiah would be grouped with criminals. Without having done anything wrong, He would be lumped in and killed beside rebels. Criminals. He would be considered their class. “Two other criminals were also led away to be executed with him” (Luke 23:32). Jesus was bartered alongside another criminal (Mark 15:7). Jesus was mocked even by the criminals He was crucified beside (Matthew 27:44). Jesus IS Messiah!
