Fear No Fear

“But when he—the Spirit of truth—comes, he will guide you into all the truth. For he will not speak from himself, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will proclaim to you the things to come.“

John 16:13

Feelings are undependable. That’s why we were given the TRUTH. That’s why Ruach HaKodesh was sent to us. Feelings cannot FOOL us when we have the TRUTH. It doesn’t mean feelings are wrong. When you feel cold, it might just be cold. But our RESPONSE to a feeling should be determined by the TRUTH. Feeling cold is not life or death. It might be cold and we might be able to solve it by turning up the heat or adding a blanket or clothing. We might need to close a door or window. The feeling of cold doesn’t always mean we’re on an arctic plateau, sinking in a glacier lake, or otherwise dying of exposure. The TRUTH will tell us how we should be responding. It’s true about temperature, it’s true about emotions, and it’s true about everything else that we can FEEL. It is ALWAYS true.

I don’t always FEEL like doing daily ministry. I don’t always FEEL like going to church. I don’t always FEEL like educating my kids. I don’t always FEEL like doing the things that I KNOW must be done. I don’t FEEL like it. What I WANT to do is to read. Or watch something. Or play a game. Do something that takes no real effort. But I do what I don’t FEEL like because I benefit from it. Seeing my kids doing well makes me happy. Hearing from the Lord makes me happy. Praising the Lord and listening to anointed teaching makes me happy. It FEEDS me. I am SATISFIED when I am DONE, even though I don’t FEEL like it before I begin.

When Jesus went to feed the multitudes, He encouraged the disciples to do it first. He included Himself by saying WE, but He was challenging them to let Ruach HaKodesh do a work through them. This was AFTER they had been sent out healing with signs and wonders appearing around them. This was AFTER they had miraculous things done through their own hands by Ruach HaKodesh. This was just another opportunity. But they could NOT see past the physical situation, so Jesus did it. He did not let THEIR FEELINGS affect HIS knowledge. Jesus said He never did anything that the Father hadn’t shown Him. But I wonder what He was expecting. Did He see Himself breaking up SOMETHING into pieces, but not exactly what? Did He get handed a couple of fish and some bread and wonder THIS? I’m feeding over five thousand people with THIS? It’s possible. He was as human as we. But He CHOSE to let His KNOWLEDGE of Adonai guide Him. He LISTENED to the Ruach of Truth instead of the flesh of are-you-kidding-me. Jesus CHOSE trusting over feeling and He fed THOUSANDS of people off of one child’s lunch.

There isn’t a single miracle in the Gospels that had evidence of it BEFORE it happened. It ALWAYS happened on trust. Trust in words Jesus said. Trust in action Jesus asked for. Trust that it WOULD happen. Some were immediate. Some were within a couple of hours. ALL were based on TRUST in Jesus. What He said. What He did. Everything Jesus did and said was based on the Word. On the will of the Father. Nothing has changed. We can rely on our feelings to point us to physical things, or we can rely on our feelings to inform us of what we need to look for in the Word. We can trust in our knowledge and that of our fellow human beings. We can trust in the Word and what Adonai says is possible. The feelings are the signal received. But what do you DO WITH IT? Build your emotions on the Word, not the feeling. The feeling will tell you which fruit you need. Whether you’ve cultivated it, are cultivating it, or need to pick some of Ruach HaKodesh’s. What you NEED is there. You will be pointed to the TRUTH when you LISTEN to the RUACH of TRUTH.

Feelings are undependable. But objective truth is ALWAYS truth. Circumstances can’t change it. Feelings can’t change it. Situations can’t change it. NOTHING can change it because it is TRUTH. Listen to the Truth and NEVER let it go. Truth FREES us. And in Him is where true freedom is. Always was. Always will be. Depend on it by depending on Him.

Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: John 19:30

“Then when he had received the sour wine, Jesus said, “It is completed,” and bowing his head, he gave up his spirit.” Jesus didn’t make anything halfway. He COMPLETES things. That doesn’t mean it’s DONE unless it can be done in Him. He created the Earth – but told us to tend and shepherd it. It was COMPLETE, but not DONE. Jesus COMPLETED all the works that are DONE in Him. Jesus ALSO completed all the works that are done WHEN WE ACCEPT THEM. It’s like electricity at the end of one contact waiting to touch the other. It is complete. It is a complete charge. It is ready to flow. Nothing needs to be done but for the second wire to make the connection. To touch it and receive. He has done His part. He has COMPLETED His part. And now, we need to receive. He has made everything ready. We need to believe. We need to trust. He is trustworthy. He is faithful. He is merciful. He is gracious. And He is ready. READY for us to receive. All WE need to do is RECEIVE. What a GOOD God!
