“Therefore, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is here and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?” (Matthew 6:30, MEV). If God really is God, how could we begin to think that He cares about us? I mean what are we in the scope of the universe? I tell you the truth, friend, He DOES care. We have a freezer in our home. A big one. We put things in it throughout the year to have stuff on hand in the winter. We save money buying in the plentiful/cheaper times so that we can enjoy it in the scarcer/expensive times. It was nagging at me last week. I went to get out a frozen treat for my kids and their friends and some of the packages were leaking. I chalked it down to bad product. Didn’t think anything else. Then we had a guest coming for a meal and I was going to buy buns. I really felt maybe I should use the frozen ones. It kept AT me. I felt it a distinct push in my spirit. So I got them and they were practically thawed. Which they shouldn’t be. Other things were beginning to defrost. I checked the freezer and someone (probably one of the kids) had played with the temperature dial and changed it from deep freeze to cooler. I adjusted the temp back to freeze, did some foodsafe removal of some products, and thanked God that He had pushed me. I wouldn’t have noticed in time and we would have lost everything instead of a few things. He saved us money. He preserved our winter harvest. He has a whole universe to watch. Almost nine billion people to look on. And He cared about OUR freezer. God cares about us. God notices us. God pays attention and reaches out to us to help us. Little ‘ol us. We can trust in His attention. We can trust in His instructions. We can trust in His Word that says He cares. He is TRUSTWORTHY and He watches us. Each and every one of us doing every little thing – and He wants to help us with ALL of it. Trust Him on it. He CARES.
