“He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destruction” (Psalm 107:20, MEV). My littlest one came to me complaining about a throat that hurt. As we were doing the good stewardship things we do, I asked her what the Word said about things like her hurting throat. Without hesitation, she told me Jesus heals her. Actively, consistently, released for all to enjoy, heals her. She was firm. No medicine was needed. It was kind of a warning hurt. A tickle that was more than fuzz. No fever. A sickness coming on, but not accepted yet. I said yes, He does and quoted some scripture that agreed with that statement, that Jesus heals us. Now we do communion every day, and part of that is we remember two things that Jesus has done for us. He tells us to take communion in remembrance of Him and that’s one of the ways we help ourselves to focus on Him. One of the things that day was her unprompted grateful report that Jesus had healed her throat. By the time we took communion all the pain was gone, the symptoms were gone, and all physical signs of impending sickness were gone. It COULD NOT come on her, because Jesus provided her healing and she TOOK HOLD of it. I know you may say a whole lot of doubting things. It wasn’t really a cold or her immune system fought it off. You can say whatever you want. But she KNOWS what happened because it was HER body experiencing it. She trusted, she engaged, she got into alignment with the Word, and she didn’t let go. Jesus released healing for us. It’s His will for us to be whole and well. Children understand that better than anyone (Matthew 18:3). I am grateful for her trust. I am VERY grateful for Jesus’ faithfulness. He CAN be trusted FULLY. He is the One who HEALS US (John 10:10).
