“fixing our eyes on Jesus, the originator and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.“
Hebrews 12:2
There is real value in line of sight. Everyone who has ever played a team sport knows the value of keeping your team captain in sight. Or your coach. The ones who make the plays and give the signals. The ones who see the big picture and alter what your team is doing at any given time. If you cannot see them, you cannot alter your playing to fit with the well-oiled machine that is your team. You can miss out on opportunities or for the chance to make opportunities for others. In short, you might lose the victory you have as your goal. Sightlines to those who know the real deal is VERY important. Ruach HaKodesh is one such coach to believers.
“But I tell you the truth, it is better for you that I go away. For if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you” (John 16:7). In what possible way could Jesus’ presence be hindering the disciples? His physicality. The fact He could be seen and touched and interacted with. It is harder for us to hang onto spiritual principles when we have physical things in front of our eyes. The power we experience in our lives is Adonai’s power, not ours. Adonai’s power is invisible. It is spiritual. It’s actually more real than what we see, if science is to be believed – similar to the ephaptic fields that coordinate consciousness in the brain, but on a cosmological level. The Word agrees with that: “who is the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, sustaining all things by the word of power. When he had made purification for sins through him, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high” (Hebrews 1:3). It is Jesus who sustains our reality. He upholds us through Himself, the Word (John 1:1-4). It is all done on the SPIRITUAL level, which is unseen. This spiritual world is the REAL world. We’re in essence, a projection of it. A projection of and in the mind of Adonai – also something science is leaning toward (the Holographic principle).
If these things (what the Word says) are true, then keeping our eyes on Jesus who is upholding us and keeping us in existence, is VITAL. Doing anything else is total foolishness. Because going our own way, turning away from that (who) which is giving us life and form and being is…. counterproductive. I mean, moving a lamp away from the electrical socket it is getting its power from means it will stop working. It will not light up because it has been separated from its SOURCE. This is death: apart-ness from Adonai. We need to do the opposite. We need to move TOWARD Jesus, not away. We cannot do that unless we know where He is. You can’t move toward something you cannot see.
Ruach HaKodesh ALWAYS points to Jesus (John 16:8-11). He is the creator of our sightlines in the spiritual. If we pay attention to the words He constantly and consistently speaks to us, we will ALWAYS know where Jesus is. If we listen to, look up, and study the scriptures that Ruach HaKodesh brings to our minds (Psalm 119:105), we will have a lit path going from us to Jesus. If we look at the signs that He puts up for us we’ll be able to follow the arrows. We NEED our eyes on Jesus. We NEED to pay attention to our coach. We NEED to know what our part is in this moment in the big picture that ONLY Adonai can see. Pay attention to the sightlines. Pay attention to how Ruach HaKodesh is directing your attention. Lean into SEEING Jesus. He is THE LEAD that we are called to follow (1 Peter 2:21-25).
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Hebrews 13:5
“our lifestyle must be free from the love of money, being content with what you have. For he himself has said, “I will never desert you, and I will never abandon you.”” In a world that runs on commerce and has chosen to lean into economies driven by debt accumulation, it is HARD to look to an invisible God as your source. But being SEEN is not Adonai’s goal. Being FOUND is Adonai’s goal. FELLOWSHIP is Adonai’s goal. We can fellowship with humans across the planet using technological tools. How much easier should it be for us to fellowship, interact with, and rely on a God who lives WITHIN us? Who promises to ALWAYS be there – whether we can see/feel Him or not? Isn’t that the BEST thing? We can leave the worldly things alone and lean into HIM. He makes it so easy to rely on Him. And when we rely on Him the hooks and barbs don’t get into us. He has none! With our eyes on Him and our reliance on Him, we can enjoy THINGS without the THINGS controlling our actions or being the reason we make decisions. Take them, leave them, it won’t matter. Because we’re all about HIM and HE is all about us. He is right there. With us. And never leaves. What a GOOD God!

I taste and see that Yahweh is good; I am blessed because I take refuge in Him.
