Fear No Fear

“For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and self-control” (2 Timothy 1:7, MEV). We are not stuck in the same place as everyone else. We don’t have to lean into what everyone else is being trained to lean into. We don’t have to worry. We don’t have to be anxious. We don’t have to be fearful. We don’t have to celebrate the shivers that make your spine tingle and your feet flee. We don’t have to make entertainment out of values and feelings that the devil is stuck with. We don’t have to be at the mercy of market trends and central banks. We don’t have to have less than. We are obedient in our service to a God who is MORE THAN ENOUGH. A God who gave us a spirit that we can engage to stand firm in Him. We can love where others hate. We can bless where others hoard. We can be generous where others are afraid of losing out. We can keep ourselves from going to places we know we should not. We are not at the mercy of our feelings. We can CHOOSE the Fruit we want to emote. We can replace the frail humanness with God’s strength and joy. We can CHOOSE it because we have been given the spirit that EMPOWERS it. We can flick that switch and let His power flow where He wants it to, where He directs it, and where we need it. We are FREE in Him. We are free INDEED. He loves us and gives us the freedom to escape the negative and embrace HIS positive. How great is that?
