Ruach HaKodesh “Who Is He? – Part Seven”

(All scripture from Lexham English Bible, Copyright 2012 Logos Bible Software)

While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

John 9:5

Here Jesus is telling something about His incarnation. We already know that Jesus, the divine, Yahweh himself is the Light of the World PERIOD. He was the Light in Genesis 1 before there were suns or moons in space (near or interstellar). He has always remained that Light. Not needed as a PHYSICAL light, but as the spiritual FORCE that upholds all Creation and keeps it created (Hebrews 1:13). His GLORY is the Light of Life, the creative force that upholds us all in our existence. In a sense, science is starting to catch up with the Word. Scientists are discovering that reality as we know it shows signs of being a hologram or projection. Well, they’re right. We are the projection of the thoughts of Jesus. The Mind of Messiah gives us substance and keeps us substantive. That is the Light that Ruach HaKodesh had John reference in John 1:4-5. But here, Jesus is speaking to the people in a different way. He isn’t speaking about His NATURE, He is speaking about His ROLE.

In Adonai’s character there is no shadow (James 1:17). There is nothing evil in Him, no wrongdoing, and nothing unrighteous (1 John 1:5; James 1:13; Psalm 5:4; Psalm 45:7; Genesis 1:31). Adonai is PURE. That is LIGHT. In Heaven there is no shadow because of the brightness of the Light of Adonai – not physical OR spiritual shadows (Revelation 21:23). Light does NOT need darkness to exist OR to have its nature understood. Adonai IS light in the same way that Adonai IS love (1 John 4:8). The purpose of light is very simple. It is to enable sight. To reveal the truth of things. Which is why those who live in darkness hate the light. “And this is the judgment: that the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone who practices evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds be exposed. But the one who practices the truth comes to the light, in order that his deeds may be revealed, that they are done in God” (John 3:19-21). That was Jesus’ ROLE. To reveal the truth of the situation on the Earth so that those on the Earth could choose better than to remain in darkness. “For in this way God loved the world, so that he gave his one and only Son, in order that everyone who believes in him will not perish, but will have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world in order that he should judge the world, but in order that the world should be saved through him. The one who believes in him is not judged, but the one who does not believe has already been judged, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God” (John 3:16-18).

When Jesus was here in a physical form as a man, His role was to expose the truth. To cut to the core of the religious thinking that had developed and to separate traditions made by men from truths of Adonai’s Way of redemption (Hebrews 4:12). He came to SET US FREE (Luke 4:18-19). Jesus preached that the Kingdom of Adonai was near. That turning to Adonai with your whole heart was the way to go. It was THE answer. The Way of salvation. His mission was to preach that there was no more enmity between Adonai and humanity because Sin was dealt with and there was a Way of restoration open to humanity. He preached it faithfully. He instructed His disciples (the Twelve, the Seventy, and all those who followed Him). And He told them He was going to send them His Ruach so that they could pick up the torch and continue to shine the light. While He was in the world HE was the carrier of the Light. He was what was shining in the darkness and showing the truth of the gospel message. But He knew that He wasn’t going to stay. That He was going to return to the Father. He knew that others were going to need to shine that Light after Him.

You are the light of the world. A city located on top of a hill cannot be hidden, nor do they light a lamp and place it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it shines on all those in the house. In the same way let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16). We are the repository of His Light. “For God who said, “Light will shine out of darkness,” is the one who has shined in our hearts for the enlightenment of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6). We are now cast in the role of light in the darkness. It is now WE who shine the Light of Jesus’ character and nature to the world. We are able to do this because it was what Jesus did. It was part of who He was, and we are to be as He is in this Earth (1 John 4:17).

Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: John 14:12

Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in me, the works that I am doing he will do also, and he will do greater works than these because I am going to the Father.” The disciples turned apostles were sent out into all the world to preach (Matthew 28:19). They went places Jesus never saw and witnessed to more than Jesus ever witnessed to. We today have an even greater reach. Through technology (digital and physical travel), we can reach so many more people than they did. Jesus wanted everyone everywhere to see His light. To see the truth of what really is, not just what humanity has decided in our own wisdom and learning. Jesus wanted us all to see TRUTH. This is what we’ve been called to do. This is what we’ve been equipped to do. Individually, we can only see so many people in a day. Using technology, we can increase that. If we are all collectively as a body of Jesus doing what we can, that reach is almost unimaginable. How awesome it is to be allowed to do what we do. To have the privilege to share the TRUTH that He has shown us. To use His Word to reach the hearts of people around the whole world. What a BLESSING! What a GOOD God!

I taste and see that Yahweh is good; I am blessed because I take refuge in Him.
