Fear No Fear

“My son, attend to my words; incline your ear to my sayings” (Proverbs 4:20, MEV). God loves to talk. And God loves to talk to us. He NEVER stops. Every day, all day long, and all night long (Psalm 121:4). It isn’t all corrective, but some of it will be – we NEED correction. It isn’t all informative, but some of it will be – we NEED to know what He knows. It isn’t all remembrances, but some of it will be – we NEED reminders. It isn’t all small things, but some of it will be – He cares about ALL aspects of our life. God is ALWAYS talking. He cares so much about us that He cannot help communicating with us. He loves us so much, He never wants to be parted from us. It hurt Him so much when we rebelled. It hurts Him so much when we turn away. He loves us and wants to be with us. But that means WE need to stay close. WE need to lean into His thinking. To do that, God made a special part of us: the ear. We have conscious control of our ears. That might not seem like a big thing, but we can actually CHOOSE what we listen to. We can CHOOSE what goes into our ears. Which means we can CHOOSE to listen to His voice. We can practise it. We can compare it to the Word – we KNOW that He never contradicts Himself (1 Corinthians 14:33; Galatians 1:9; 2 Timothy 2:13). When we give attention to His voice, it is truly a BLESSING. It is AMAZING what God shares with us. The instructions, corrections, intimacies, and the things He brings to our mind that He said to us or showed us or did for us before. God’s voice is ALWAYS good to pay attention to. Real attention. True attention. It is a blessing that NEVER stops blessing. God loves us so much that He speaks to us. God SPEAKS to us! When we listen, it’s even better!
