Fear No Fear

“Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they cannot speak; eyes, but they cannot see;” (Psalm 115:4-5, MEV). Idols are always transactional. False gods and false teachers are always transactional. They are always trying to get something from you before you get anything. They don’t speak to you. Truly SPEAK. There is no communication. Actual idols CANNOT speak. There have been times when an evil spirit has spoken and we perceived it as that rock or lump of metal speaking, but that actual object was inanimate, dead, and unable to communicate. God, Yahweh, the Creator of the Universe, has a mouth. And eyes. And ears. He is LIVING. He SPEAKS. There is communication that comes out of His mouth and goes directly into the ears of our spirit. He SPEAKS to us. Not to get something from us, but to get something TO us. Nothing else that humans have chosen to worship can do that. Everything other than God Almighty will take from us. There will be some price, some thorn, some hook, some something. Only GOD gives without sorrow (Proverbs 10:22). We can hear other things speaking, but they are always full of deceit. They are always trying to hinder us. When God speaks there is nothing like it. Pure. Loving. Kind. Gracious. Merciful. And a BLESSING. There is a wonder in it that the human mind has trouble with. The God of Creation wants to speak with ME? Yes. Yes, He does. He wants to and He does speak. He has always spoken to us. Even when we were sinners, He spoke. His Word is everywhere. And it is meant for our benefit. Whether He is speaking a yes or a no. Whether He is correcting or calling. Whether He is empowering or just interacting. It is ALL for our benefit because He LOVES us. God SPEAKS to us. That is one of the most marvellous proofs that He loves us that could ever be. He speaks to us where nothing else can.
