Healing Wings “You Can’t”

(All scripture from the NET, netbible.org, all rights reserved)

For through the Spirit, by faith, we wait expectantly for the hope of righteousness. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision carries any weight—the only thing that matters is faith working through love.
Galatians 5:5-6 (emphasis added)

We are free from the Law. What does that mean? It means that our justification before the Throne doesn’t depend on our character or performance. Relying on ourselves is a slavery of bondage. Trusting in our ability to keep a set of rules to establish good standing before Adonai is a losing endeavour. The Law was not meant to establish our good character, but to show us we needed a Saviour to bring us into good standing. The Father did NOT want us to flounder and struggle and spend our strength trying to reach Him. He bridged the gap for us. He made the way for us. And He gave us everything we needed so that by trust, all the things of the kingdom could be ours.

Who is it that you trust? Or to put it another way, how do you get things? The world sends you to work or a government program or a charity/organisation. You get supported by them or you work to earn money and support yourself. When you see things that you want, you start thinking about how you can get it. Who you can talk into giving it to you. How you can earn money for it. How long you might need to save up for it. Or how you can either enter to win it or apply to qualify for it. It is all about the effort YOU expend to get what YOU want. Footwork, mouth work, brain work, or paperwork. There is effort. You trust is your ability to MAKE it happen. And we get SO upset when our efforts don’t pan out. That is trusting in the flesh. It is not trusting Adonai. We justify it because we’ll say we’re trusting Him for our job. Or we prayed that we got the thing. Or the bills get paid. Or we get to buy that house, car, or thing we wanted. That’s a KIND of trusting, but it is NOT trusting. Trusting is resting. True trusting is tied intimately with loving, because we rest in His love – when we understand it.

To rest in Adonai is to trust Adonai completely. Rest is peace of mind or spirit. We are at PEACE when we are close to Adonai. “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in him, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13). Our belief in Adonai will bring us closer to Him as we believe. “Seek the Lord while he makes himself available; call to him while he is nearby!” (Isaiah 55:6). One of the key ways we seek Him is to read His Word. His nature is there. His love is there. His plan is there. His promises are there. The demonstration of His mercy, grace, and hope are there. Evidence He fulfils His promises are there. It is ALL there. And as the LIVING Word of Elohim, it works in us. It gets our thinking back to where it should have always been, when we apply our trust in it. It isn’t blind trust, but honest trust based on the truth of the Word and the experiential evidence of relationship with Adonai through the Word. The Word opens the door so that we are able to start seeing the unseen. Ruach HaKodesh works with us on every word of it so that we can start to understand what is being said, why it is being said, and how it all joins together so seamlessly without any contradictions or errors. And as we begin to understand it, it strengthens our trust.

We understand Elohim as we understand the Word. You can really see His love for us. The efforts He goes through for us. The sacrifices He makes for us. The plan for our salvation. From OUR point of view there are things we don’t always understand, or our human reasoning argues to ineffectiveness. But when we start to see it from HIS point of view, it makes more sense than anything else. When we get an inkling of the love He has for us, we can’t HELP but respond with our trust because we can rest in His love. If He is who He says He is, and He can do what He says He can do, then how can we do anything else BUT trust? The Creator of the universe(s) says He is on our side and will provide for us. Who are WE to doubt that? On my own I’ve struggled to put food on the table and to pay for my vices (such as smoking when I was younger). But when I have let Him love me, I have seen abundance and a meeting of every need. I don’t live in a palace, but I live comfortably and am working on being a good steward of what I have. But NOTHING I’ve done or will do affects how He loves me OR how He blesses me. I get blessed when I let Him love me. Does that mean I can do whatever I want whenever I want? Of course not! Because part of love is correction. Part of a healthy love is reciprocated love. I can’t love Him and not want to make Him smile. I can’t make Him smile by disobeying and rebelling at everything He says is right. I can’t love Him without extending Him some trust. It’s all part of His love for me. These are things that can’t be helped – if you think they can then you’ve never felt passionate love. But the things I do aren’t what is bringing the blessing on me. The obedience I force my flesh into is not what makes things happen. It is ALL on His side and is NOT dependent on how I do at obeying. It is simply his Grace that does it.

Walk up to any door in any busy city in the world and offer to hold the door for someone wanting to enter. You say something like ‘After you’ and they go in saying ‘thank you’ and that’s it. They don’t give you money. You don’t do it because they’re working well at their jobs. You don’t do it because they are male or because they are female. You are doing it out of respect for their humanity. They have to walk through the door, but that’s about it. The Grace of Elohim is the same way. Adonai is opening the door to healing, lack of lack, peace of mind, and total relationship with Him. We need to walk through. We can’t pay for it. We can’t open the door that’s already open. We can’t go through a window. There is no back door. We need to walk through the door. We have to let Him love us. We have to receive what He is offering by trusting that He won’t slam the door. We can’t earn this. Anything WE could do is minuscule in comparison to what Jesus did, it is laughable to think our efforts are required for our healing. We can’t pray it in. We can’t study it in. We can only ACCEPT it. We accept it when we understand His Love for us. We understand when we believe we will see it in the Word and read the Word while listening to Ruach HaKodesh. HE retrains us, HE teaches us, HE gives us understanding, HE reveals Himself to us, HE gives us His trust for us to use. It is ALL HIM.

We get from Adonai (blessing, healing, salvation) entirely by trusting in Messiah Jesus for everything. We have worth in HIM. We have everything in HIM. It is His gift to us. We can and do receive it by trusting Him. Then the only thing that matters is walking out that trust IN JESUS on the road of Adonai’s Love. We have to understand it to walk it, and the whole of the Word is there to teach us that lesson. So that by Grace, through our Trust, we can walk in His Mercy in Jesus, our Saviour. As we walk? That trust we have? That belief in Him? It births ALL the rest: healing, peace, abundance, joy, and ALL good things. It is possible. It is a promise. We cannot produce it with our own efforts. We can rest in Him and receive this gift directly from Him. For free. By Grace. Because He loves you.

Daily Affirmation Jesus IS Messiah: Daniel 9:26

Now after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one will be cut off and have nothing. As for the city and the sanctuary, the people of the coming prince will destroy them. But his end will come speedily like a flood. Until the end of the war that has been decreed there will be destruction.” Messiah would be killed. Period. The Suffering Servant would die. This is a vital part of Messiah’s mission. Messiah would be killed or He is NOT Messiah. “When they had crucified him, they divided his clothes by throwing dice” (Matthew 27:35). “Wasn’t it necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and enter into his glory?” (Luke 24:26). Jesus went to the cross and died. He was killed by men. They watched Him die. He didn’t STAY dead, but as prophesied (Hosea 6:2), rose from the dead on the third day and entered glory. Jesus IS the Messiah!
