Healing Wings “The Name In You”

(All scripture from the NET, netbible.org, all rights reserved)

The name of the Lord is like a strong tower; the righteous person runs to it and is set safely on high.
Proverbs 18:10 (emphasis added)

The ‘like’ was put in for clarity, but I don’t think it is needed. The Name of Adonai IS a strong tower. What should we do? Put our wholehearted and unwavering trust into His Name. His Name makes us secure, placing us OUT of danger. How does that happen? The Word supplies us with MANY ways Adonai protects those people who place their trust in Him. He gives us HIS trust so that we can use it to trust Him who was the source of that trust. We know it works because HE used it. And now we use it and give it back so He can use it again. It’s like He has a feast on his plate, gives a full serving to His child from His plate, and then snags a bite or two off His child’s plate just because it looks SOOOO good. We do not operate in a vacuum. We enjoy what He enjoys and He enjoys what we enjoy. Faith to faith to faith. Love to love to love. Us in Him and Him in us. Who needs feelings when we have this reality inside us?

I will praise you, O Lord, for you lifted me up, and did not allow my enemies to gloat over me. O Lord my God, I cried out to you and you healed me. O Lord, you pulled me up from Sheol; you rescued me from among those descending into the grave. Sing to the Lord, you faithful followers of his; give thanks to his holy name” (Psalm 30:1-4). This is the strong tower that is the Name of Jesus. This is the safe place we inhabit. This is the security we have. Jesus’ Name is above all Names (Philippians 2:9-11). It isn’t a question of ‘if’. It is a FACT. Every single thing that has a name will submit to the authority of THE Name. And that Name is inside of you. How DARE sickness try to come on you! There isn’t ROOM inside of you for sickness. There is no place for sickness to grow. The NAME is inside you, filling you up, and shining out of you. If that Name is inside of you, how can ANYTHING get purchase? If you read the scriptures that tell us the Name is in us (such as Isaiah 44:5 and Revelation 3:12), you will start to feel it. Not necessarily as an actual, tingly feeling, but as an emotional reality. Like when you exercise and you feel larger, fitter, and pumped up. You feel better than you did. As we meditate on the Name and where it resides, we’ll start to realise how we can feel. Full. Safe. Shining with His authority, His love, and His presence. Why do we have checks on presidents and prime ministers? Because if we didn’t they could abuse their powers and become dictators. The Name of Jesus has no checks and needs no balances because it is absolutely perfectly righteous. As we come to understand what is in it, we can live in harmony with it. Realising that as we walk in His ways, in accordance with the authority of the Name, we are perfectly guarded SUPERNATURALLY simply because what tries to come against us is answerable to the authority that resides within us: the Name of Jesus.

When Jesus had finished saying these things, he looked upward to heaven and said, “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, so that your Son may glorify you—just as you have given him authority over all humanity, so that he may give eternal life to everyone you have given him. Now this is eternal life—that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you sent” (John 17:1-3). In Jesus is our relationship with the Father (John 14:7). Knowing the Father IS eternal life. He is the source of all good things (James 1:17). A VERY good thing is to be protected. The world is all about vulnerability. I’m not into that. I am in favour of humility because it ticks all the same boxes EXCEPT not being in a position to be hurt. Who wants that? Yes, you can grow through painful experiences. But there is a better way. Growing through the ministry of Ruach HaKodesh and the love of the Father as personified in Jesus – which is transformational. It has more growth than the world’s methods and none of the pain – though because of our flesh, it is not always comfortable. There’s a huge difference between uncomfortable and painful. Adonai is NOT about pain or suffering. Those are things meant to harm us. To slowly choke the life from us. To get us to accept situations we normally would not. Adonai’s ways are better. Being corrected by Him is superior. It is always an uplifting experience. Always designed to life you, build you up, show you your firm foundation and help you secure it. We NEED this guidance because we have NO IDEA what is happening in our spirit apart from Jesus.

The Spirit is the one who gives life; human nature is of no help! The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life” (John 6:63). This is TRUTH and this truth will set you free from broken thinking (John 8:31-32). What is happening in our spirit can ONLY be discerned BY the spirit. We need the WORD to be connected to our spirit because our perceptions of what is going on gets clouded by our natural, physical flesh (1 Corinthians 13:12). But in JESUS we are connected supernaturally with what He has done in our spirit with HIS Spirit in and through the cross (John 15:5). We don’t need to use our feelings to figure out our emotions. We can use the WORD to figure out our emotions. And if we don’t WANT those particular emotions, we can pick up Ruach HaKodesh’s Fruit and use IT instead of ours. Is your body telling you that there is something wrong? Let the Word tell you what is right and listen to Ruach HaKodesh to find out the right way to row. He ALWAYS knows the answer before we even have the awareness there is a question. This is the safe place we have the privilege to live in. There is a safety in nothing ever happening. In being cocooned where nothing negative ever touches you. But there is no growth there. It’s boring. It isn’t forward motion. True safety is being equipped to handle anything and seeing everything coming. We – in and of ourselves – cannot see everything coming. But Adonai can. He will NEVER let us face negative circumstances without preparing us. Are we listening? Are we using our ears to hear? Are we harkening to the voice of truth and paying attention with everything we have? Are we OBEYING?

It does us NO GOOD to have the ultimate warning, but not heed it. Being told the enemy will arrive at 9am sharp, but running out of the fort to pick berries at 8:50am. Being told the spies will scale the northwest corner of the wall, but not guarding it. Being told the bomb is in the dishwasher, but spending our day rooting through the furnace. We MUST obey what we hear. “If you love me, you will obey my commandments” (John 14:15). This can also be read “you will keep”. It can be a command, but it can also be a statement of fact. That if we love Him we will find ourselves obeying Him. That keeping His commandments is the experiential evidence that we love Him. We won’t obey Him if we don’t love Him. If we love Him, we’ll obey. It will be natural. Part of that is listening. When you love someone, you give weight to their words. You listen to what they say as if their words were as important as your own words. That is the level of listening we are called to. That is the level of obedience that will come out of us as we systematically put the Word in us with the motivation to see revelation, experience Jesus on every page, and submit with humbleness to what we find there. To let Him retrain us. To let Him sanctify us. To show us who we are and what we can have. To show us how to stand firmly on what He says. To show us how our trust is validated by the Word. To show us our belief is not misplaced. To open our eyes to what our spirit is seeing in Him.

The Name of the Lord is like a strong tower and it is built on the bricks of the Word. Each one solid and strong, mortared by His Spirit. Reaching far above our enemies. Proof against storms and trials. Proof against siege and starvation. Boulders, fires, arrows, and scaling ladders. We are safe in an advantageous spot, able to see all that is pointed out to us. Able to discern the enemy’s location and makeup. Able to rest in the knowledge of who He is and where His name resides: dead centre in our heart. Beating with the will, power, perfect love, and authority of Jesus Himself. Filling us and driving out ALL that is out of harmony with Him – one submitted piece at a time (1 John 4:18; Revelation 3:20).

Daily Affirmation Jesus IS Messiah: Joel 2:32

It will so happen that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be delivered. For on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who survive, just as the Lord has promised; the remnant will be those whom the Lord will call.” Messiah would offer salvation to all mankind. First to the Jew and then to the Gentile, salvation was meant for all the descendants of Adam. Meant to move them from children of the curse to children of the promise. To be their God and to let them be His children. “For there is no distinction between the Jew and the Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all, who richly blesses all who call on him. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:12-13). Those who hear this good news and believe in their hearts (not just with their words) can begin a new life in Jesus. “because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and thus has righteousness and with the mouth one confesses and thus has salvation” (Romans 10:9-10). Jesus is the Name by which we are saved. The Name that embodies the sacrifice, the sanctification, and the returned authority and dominion He won through the ordeal of the cross and offers to us – by Grace through our trust in Him – because of His resurrection to life. Jesus makes this offer to all people (Matthew 28:16-20). Jesus IS the Messiah!
