“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve me alive. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my enemies, and you save me with your right hand.“
Psalm 128:7
To preserve food, we need to destroy the microorganisms that cause food to spoil as well as inactivate enzymes that can cause food to spoil. We do it by canning and other methods. It enables us to have food available to us over long periods of time. To take times of plenty and extend them into times of lack. It is one of the ways we survive natural and unnatural disasters. Ruach HaKodesh is one of the ways Adonai preserves us. Ruach HaKodesh is living within us (1 Corinthians 6:19), forcing out the negative things simply because there is no room in us for both (Matthew 6:24). He is an active participant in the ways that Adonai protects us in times of harm. “Yahweh will protect you from all evil; he will protect your life. Yahweh will protect your going out and your coming in from now until forever” (Psalm 121:7-8).
This is hard for us to wrap our minds around, but so much of the Kingdom requires us to think in new ways (Romans 12:2). New to us, anyway. They are NOT new to Adonai. He constantly encourages us to look at our lives from His point of view. Look at what is possible from His point of view. The reason is that HE is the one who is providing the stuff. Whether it is the breath of life, our talents, our dreams, our abilities, or our sustenance; we get everything we need from Adonai. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of change” (James 1:17). From Adonai’s point of view, nothing is impossible (Matthew 19:26). Because nothing IS impossible for Him. Instead of us trying to get things out of Him that we think are beneficial (James 4:3), we should be focused on what HE wants and then cooperate with Him in that. When we do, everything we NEED is provided for us.
Part of that provision is protection. It can be physical, items showing up. It can be opportunities that we wouldn’t have any other way. It can be supernatural provision that is beyond all human explanation. It can be emotional, mental, or spiritual. It could be ANYTHING because Adonai is not in a box. He can do it all and then more. He IS more than enough. It is tough for us to see it. We can mentally understand it, but to truly accept it and operate as if it is a TRUTH in our lives, that takes something more than ourselves. It takes the Word. The Word builds and develops our trust in Jesus (Romans 10:17). The Word shows us Adonai’s thought patterns and helps us change what we are choosing to think so that we can get into alignment with His thinking and moral character. Ruach HaKodesh is a HUGE part of that. He WROTE the Word and He is the only one who can truly effectively EXPLAIN the Word to us. We NEED the revelation knowledge (divine commentary) that only He has (John 14:26).
We are in troubling times if our minds are not stayed on Adonai (Isaiah 26:3). But if you look at the Word and the track record that Adonai has laid down for us, you’ll see that He ALWAYS has the solution BEFORE the situation arises. Governmental issues? He has new people ready to go. Economic issues? He has a new system ready to go. Financial issues? He can distribute the wealth of the world to where it needs to go through men and women who are cooperating with Him. Employment issues? He is our Source (paycheques) and can open opportunities for us if we’ll obey Him and follow through with His instructions – even when it is a leap of trusting in Him. Adonai can arrange ANYTHING to ensure that we are taken care of. Elijah relied on Adonai as his source, so Adonai had BIRDS feeding him. Then Adonai SUPERNATURALLY renewed their food day by day because they trusted in Him. Jesus did it with fish and loaves. Twice. Adonai did it in the desert when there was no physical way to feed that many people. Adonai has no shortage of ways to provide for us and to protect us. We only need to be willing to trust in Him. Fully. Completely. Casting our cares on Him and then nailing to the cross any stress, anxiety, worry, depression, or any other thing that tries to come onto or into our minds regarding the situation. Just total trust in total peace. THAT is one of the MAJOR blessings of the BLESSING. Peace because we know that we know that we KNOW that Jesus is on the case.
Let Ruach HaKodesh preserve His thinking in your mind. Let Him guide you to the Word. Listen to Him as you read it. Read the places where Adonai provided for the people. Read the passages where He protected them and fought for them. Read these stories and see yourself in them. Read these stories and listen to Ruach HaKodesh about how HE is in them. And how He is also in you and your life. Let the stories come alive as you realise that in Jesus, all these things are still possible for Adonai. We may think things have passed away, but Adonai remains the same forever. If He could do it then, He can do it now. If He was willing to do it then for obedient children, He is willing to do it now for you His obedient child. He is MORE THAN ENOUGH for each and every one of us. So let’s join together praising His Name today!
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Genesis 22:8
“And Abraham said, “God will provide the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went together.” Adonai doesn’t test us to see us fail. He isn’t wondering if we will make it or not. He tests us to give US the opportunity to see that His Word is TRUTH. Abraham had a promise. If that promise was true, then his son could not remain dead. If Adonai’s word on this young man was true, then Abraham was about to see a miracle unlike anything that had happened on the face of the Earth until that point. He didn’t need to dwell on the test. He didn’t need to be sorrowful or angry or feel the pressure of testing. He could REST in his BELIEF that trusting in Adonai was the RIGHT THING TO DO. Because of that trust and belief, Abraham was able to simply state the truth: Adonai had asked for a sacrifice so a sacrifice would be provided. The details didn’t matter. At the end of the day a sacrifice would have been made AND Abraham and Isaac his son would be headed back down the mountain to where they had left the servants (Genesis 22:4-5). He was SURE because He KNEW Adonai was trustworthy. Because Adonai was trustworthy, Abraham obeyed Him. We have a promise as well. We also have a word from Adonai. He is ALWAYS with us. He will PROTECT US. He will PRESERVE OUR LIVES. Adonai is trustworthy. Ruach HaKodesh is an evidence of that trustworthiness. The rest is also TRUTH. He has shown us again and again and again. He is FOR US. No matter what situation develops. No matter what circumstances occur. Jesus is on the case and Adonai is covering us. We can look our from under His wings, but we will NOT be buffeted by the heat or the storm (Psalm 91). We are protected by a God who LOVES us. We are obedient to a God who PRESERVES us. We are cared for by a God who is our FATHER and will NEVER abandon us. What a GOOD God!
