“For from the creation of the world, his invisible attributes, both his eternal power and deity, are discerned clearly, being understood in the things created, so that they are without excuse.“
Romans 1:20
‘Light’ is all electromagnetic radiation whether they are radio waves, microwaves, visible light, or gamma rays. Yes, you use light to cook your food. The electromagnetic field is a force of nature. One of the most basic ones. Without it atoms would not hold together and most matter would not exist – certainly not as we understand it. This radiation was here before our eyeballs were here to perceive it. It exists objectively without our involvement. If we all disappeared tomorrow, it would still be here and doing exactly what it does now. Jesus, and His influence, exist whether we perceive it or not. Jesus objectively IS. And Ruach HaKodesh helps us to perceive Him.
We need Ruach HaKodesh because otherwise our perception of Jesus would depend on our feelings. We would need something we could attach a feeling to and build an emotion out of that. But emotional responses do not build our trust in Jesus. The disciples had the experience of Jesus, and they all took off when trouble came (Matthew 26:56). Jesus told them that while it was nice that He was with them and fellowshipping with them, it was better that HE go and Ruach HaKodesh come (John 16:7). Among other reasons, it was because with Ruach HaKodesh living inside us we would no longer need to rely on EMOTIONS to connect with Adonai. It isn’t based on sensations, feelings, or experiences. It is based on TRUTH. On the Word of Adonai. On the faithfulness of Adonai. On truth that – while unseen – is more real than the real we see.
By focusing on the Word and LISTENING to Ruach HaKodesh, we can all SIMULTANEOUSLY hear from Adonai. Our spirit knows what is true because Ruach HaKodesh sealed it (Ephesians 1:13). Our spirit is in sync with His Ruach (1 Corinthians 2:11). And Jesus promised us that we would KNOW His voice (John 10:27-28). We are not deceived when we have all these evidences (not feelings) to rely on. They all speak to each other and they are all rooted in the Word. The Word transforms us and gets into our hearts in a way that emotional experiences cannot. You can have a great church service, a great conference, or a great retreat and come home feeling like you’re floating. But sooner or later we all come down from that. Those experiences aren’t BAD, they just aren’t a foundation. The WORD is meant to be our foundation. Our transformational process where we can get from being who we were used to being (broken, fallen, and ignorant) to who we are called to be (holy, whole, and aligned with Jesus’ mind – 1 Corinthians 2:16).
Adonai speaks to us in all sorts of ways and we have all sorts of experiences in our walk with Him. But our foundation, the path on which we tread, is the Word. And while we walk along that path, we have the voice of Ruach HaKodesh speaking to us quietly and constantly. Guiding us, correcting us, challenging us, and convicting us about the level of trust we are placing in Jesus each and every step along our journey. Ruach HaKodesh is our barometer, letting us know exactly how much Jesus we are letting into our environment. Not Jesus the buddy who makes us feel good, but Jesus the Holy King and Lord of our Lives who saved us, is showing us His salvation, and transforming us piece by piece. When we submit to that voice and what we are being shown in the Word, that process works for our benefit. When we reject the voice and go our own way, we refuse that benefit. It is important to lean into Ruach HaKodesh, lean into the Word, and to be always seeking to increase the amount of Jesus (the amount of LIGHT) that is in our lives.
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Luke 1:34
“And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I have not had sexual relations with a man?”” Mary was the same as you and I. No special sinless nature. She was a believer in Yahweh. She followed the Law. But she wasn’t perfect. What she was – and in spades – was willing to be obedient. No matter what. She didn’t understand HOW it was going to happen and she wanted to get more information, but the not knowing HOW didn’t affect her desire or decision to obey. Mary LOVED Adonai and showed it through submission to His will and obedience to His request. She could have challenged Him like Zechariah seems to have done. She could have rejected it completely. She did not. She knew that no matter WHAT difficulties or impossibilities were involved, Adonai would not seek to harm her. His character was love and deliverance. She was honoured to serve her Saviour. That is the kind of love that Adonai inspires in those who know His character. That is the kind of sacrificial love Jesus had for us. Everything got unlocked because of love. His love which gives us our love of Him. What a GOOD God!

I taste and see that Yahweh is good; I am blessed because I take refuge in Him.
