“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye on you” (Psalm 32:8, MEV). The world is volatile. The Lord warns us throughout scripture that the Day of the Lord will be a terrible experience. That the winding down of the world will be chaotic from our point of view. And also that even positive events like meeting Jesus in the clouds will be marked by upheaval throughout the globe. When we are faced with these ‘birth pangs’ (Matthew 24:8), what will we do? Do we go places or stay put? How do we navigate the new systems of the world? What about groceries, fuel, clothing, and where to live? Well, again and again God tells us in the scriptures to choose not to be anxious. To choose not to be worried. Not to ignore what we see, but to realize and rely on the TRUTH that He is in a superior position. That He knows what is best for us at each and every junction. That while things might be painful all around, He WILL care for His obedient children. Those who seek Him and rely on Him will NOT be disappointed. He will teach us what to do. He will give us words to say. He will lead us and guide us every step of our lives. He will NOT take us eyes off His beloved children. He will NOT abandon us. And we? We have NO REASON to abandon such a loving, giving, and protecting Father.
