“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest part of the earth.”“
Acts 1:8
Jesus is the wisdom of Adonai that tells us what to do. Ruach HaKodesh is the power that performs it. We are the medium where the two ‘meet’. We are like the water in a fountain. We are going no where. When a pump is added (Jesus) we now can flow somewhere. But nothing happens until batteries are added and the power is turned on. When the power hits the pump and the water beyond it, the water is drawn into the pump and flows where it should. The energy from the batteries is added to the water through the pump so that the energy can be transferred and an action completed. Without the pump we wouldn’t know what to do or where to go. Without the energy of the batteries, we wouldn’t be able to go anywhere. The energy and the pump enable us to do what we were designed to do: flow. So it is with Jesus and Ruach HaKodesh. They are the wisdom and the power that enables us to perform as the Father designed us.
It is important for us to understand WHO Jesus is. It is vital to understand that Jesus has COMPASSION for us. It is impossible to fully connect with Him without understanding the LOVE He has for us – which makes it an ever-deepening journey. But even when we have those three things actively part of our lives, without the power of Ruach HaKodesh present AND active, we won’t see the manifestation of the Father’s will in our lives. We’ll remain with it in our spirits only. Like sitting in the dark in a super comfortable chair while a lamp rests beside you plugged in, but turned off. No matter how comfortable the chair, no matter how fancy the bulb, no matter how powerful the bulb, and no matter how much electricity exists within the wires, without turning the lamp ON nothing will happen. It is the same with Adonai. We need to engage Ruach HaKodesh in our lives. He is looking for a conduit to flow through. We cannot flow on our own OR perform ANY sign or miracle without Him. We NEED Him to fulfill our tasks. We NEED to engage with Him.
Before Pentecost, Ruach HaKodesh was not poured into us. He was present, but not living within us – like electricity in our wires and plugs. After Pentecost, He was poured into us. We were given permission to engage Him according to the Father’s Will – He doesn’t operate in ANY way outside the Father’s Will. If we don’t have a relationship with Ruach HaKodesh, we won’t understand how He operates. If we don’t have a relationship with Jesus, we won’t understand how Jesus needs us to operate. The heart of both operations is relationship. We need to understand our role. How to be a conduit. How to be the channel through which the Father conveys Ruach HaKodesh into the world around us as well as our own lives.
We have to prepare ourselves and to prepare our hearts. Not for the ARRIVAL of Ruach HaKodesh, but to hear His voice. To hear Jesus’ voice. We will recognise it (John 10:27), but we need to make sure we’re not drowning it out (Mark 4:19). We need to make sure we have the channel open. That we are retraining our thinking from broken ideas and ideals to Adonai’s way of thinking. To His point of view (Romans 12:2). We don’t have to fight to make this happen. This is the way it SHOULD happen, but we need to submit to it. That is the path of least resistance. That is the way the Ruach is meant to flow. From Jesus through us and out into the world as a beacon (Matthew 5:14-16). Without Jesus, we won’t manage anything (John 15:5). Without Ruach HaKodesh, the world won’t SEE it (Acts 5:32). We must be reconciled to BOTH in humble submission in order for this all to flow as designed. We need to not fight it. We need to embrace it. Cooperators with Adonai. That is our role. His power is there and He wants to cooperate with us so that He can get it where He wants it to go.
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: 2 Corinthians 6:1
“Now because we are fellow workers, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain.” We have NOT been picked because we’re awesome. We just haven’t. We’ve been picked because Adonai WANTED us. We’ve been picked by His GRACE because of His MERCY. He is a GOOD Father. It is BECAUSE we don’t deserve it that we need to be careful to make sure we don’t ignore it. That we don’t make it a vain gift. That we partner with the One who wants to partner with us. That we take His hand and follow His lead. He makes it easy. His Grace has made provision for us. Our rest in Jesus makes His power the perfecting instrument. We don’t do the thing, we let HIM do the thing through us. He enables us, He equips us, and He guides us. We just need to submit and work with Him in the way He wants to work. It’s all about Him because His Grace is what makes it all possible. His Grace makes us worthy, not our efforts. Our fruit grown from his fruit. Our actions led by His Word. Our anything made possible by His everything. Because He loves us and wants us to be everything HE wants for us. Everything He envisions. All the best, through Jesus who perfects us. All because of His Mercy. His never-failing Mercy and Grace. What a GOOD God!
