Ruach HaKodesh “Insightful”

(All scripture from Lexham English Bible, Copyright 2012 Logos Bible Software)

For I want you to know how great a struggle I have on behalf of you, and those in Laodicea, and all those who have not seen my face in person, so that their hearts may be encouraged, united in love and into all the wealth of the full assurance of insight into the knowledge of the mystery of God, Christ, in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.

Colossians 2:1-3

Paul shared a prayer here. It was his fervent hope. It burned in his heart because it burned in Ruach HaKodesh’s heart. The Ruach of Truth (John 16:13) wants us to have FULL ASSURANCE that we get to have insight into the knowledge of Adonai. He wants us all to have revelation about the TRUTH that we have access to the mysteries of Adonai (1 Corinthians 2:16). This has ALWAYS been the heart of Adonai – “The hidden things belong to Yahweh our God, but the revealed things belong to us to know and to our children forever in order to do all the words of this law” (Deuteronomy 29:29). We are not meant to know evil by knowing evil. We are meant to RECOGNIZE evil because we know Adonai (Romans 14:23). The real knowledge was NEVER kept from us. It was always there to be discovered within our relationship with Adonai. Nothing has changed, but since Ruach HaKodesh has been given to us (Acts 2:1-4) the Way is once again open for our discovery in Jesus.

Does this mean we should expect NEW revelation and NEW scriptures? No! Not at all. The revelation that is open to us is the never-ending information about Adonai and Adonai’s character that gets revealed to us in and through His Word. Real revelation will NEVER contradict His Word. His Word is complete and needs no further chapters. No further books. No further anything. Everything that is in it is TRUE, but we don’t know the TRUTHS about everything in it. This is why we’re led by Ruach HaKodesh as we study. As we look at original word meanings, context, social cues, political frameworks, and cultural identities. I mean, He wrote the book. I think He has a few things to say about why He picked those people to copy it down. Why those words were chosen. It isn’t NEW revelation, it’s understanding THE revelation.

This is one of the reasons why Ruach HaKodesh, the Ruach of Jesus, points to Jesus all the time. Jesus HOLDS the mysteries. Jesus HOLDS the wisdom and the knowledge. Ruach HaKodesh TEACHES them. DISCUSSES them. IMPARTS them. If we will take the time to cooperate with Ruach HaKodesh, He will make sure that we are connected to and instructed in Jesus’ teachings. In Jesus’ point of view. In Jesus’ moral character. Remember that Jesus is THE WAY we come to the Father, THE WAY we enter into the New Covenant between Father and Son, and THE WAY that we enter into the rest of our salvation. There’s a LOT in that. We can choose to coast, hang onto the bare minimum, and learn the rest in heaven, but that isn’t how it was meant to be (1 Corinthians 3:15). Eternal life wasn’t when we get to heaven. All human beings have a spirit. That spirit is eternal. We’re either eternal with Adonai or eternal without Adonai. If we are eternal with Adonai, we don’t need to wait to start the relationship. As an example, we don’t need to wait until the honeymoon to TALK and LEARN about each other as people. We can go out to dinner, spend time on the phone, and write letters. We can COURT each other. We won’t have the fullness of fellowship until later, but we certainly don’t need to wait until later to start fellowshipping.

This is the heart of Ruach HaKodesh. To explain to us the insights that come when we are conversing with Jesus. When we are spending time with Him. When we are growing in Him. When we are resting in Him. We can have so much more than the bare basics. We can have so much more than an elementary education in Jesus. We can work on a doctorate. We can graduate with honours. If we are willing to submit and relearn our thinking. Relearn our patterns of behaviour. Relearn how Adonai always meant us to operate. If we do that, then there is no end to the depths of the mysteries of Adonai we can delve into. Step by step, throughout this life, and continuing in the eternal eternity of after. An unending journey into Adonai’s love for us. THAT is abundant life. THAT is eternal life. And THAT should be the inspiration for spending some of every single day in the Word and talking to Ruach HaKodesh about what we’re reading.

Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: 2 Corinthians 1:3

Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,” It’s easy to feel lonely in a crowd. To see others around you celebrating or enjoying each other’s company and feel the need to step back or shrink in. It’s easy not to know what to do or what to say to make a connection with other people. Just a cursory search online will give you MANY stories of people’s struggles with making friends as an adult. And yet, all that’s changed are our expectations. Our thinking about how people fit together. Jesus knows what that feels like. He was an outcast in His hometown, followed by crowds of people who all wanted something from Him, had almost a hundred followers, twelve close friends – and one of those would betray Him. Jesus knows what it means to be the only one in the room with a particular line of thinking. Jesus knows how hard it is. And Jesus is our comfort in those times. And other times. At all times, really. He shows us mercy so that we can embrace Him. He shows us mercy so that we can accept the comfort He offers. He gives us the ability to be safe, secure, and connected. Never alone. Never abandoned. Always belonging. What a GOOD God!

I taste and see that Yahweh is good; I am blessed because I take refuge in Him.
